So hard finding a safe baby soap/lotion
So hard finding a safe baby soap/lotion
So following from the Johnson and Johnson post, I've been looking for safer soap for my baby using the www.ewg.org/skindeep site that a person recommended on that post. I looked at some of the commenters suggestions on soaps they use; example: shea moisture (cancer risk and others mentioned on that site). Just the thought of all of this, I have no idea what soap is even safe now?

Thank you all for your feedback. I feel like I may have solved part of my son's eczema issue and can look at better remedies of soap for him as well. So this is why this soap thing is so important to me for my new baby especially with products that risk so much.

I use Burt's bees,
They have an amazing baby line.

I actually stopped using all the baby products, except diaper cream, and found a local shop that makes bars of soap. I buy them and use on her hair and body. Try etsy or something and look for handmade soap. Or try your hand at making your own. For diaper cream I switched to weleda since burts bees changed theirs and made it worse. The cream seems to be fine for daily use to avoid rash but I'm not sure how it would work on an actual rash. The old burts bees worked great but they had to change it of course. The weleda don't exactly the same but similar enough that I've been using that for the last month or so.

Do you have a local farmers market? There are usually vendors that sell organic homemade.
I bought some from esty before.
You can also try a natural food store.

I use a Mexican one called ricitos. It has honey and chamomile in it. I don't know much about it being safe but it's great on my little one. Have no problems with it

We use Dr. Bronners liquid "baby" soap. It's an overall 1 rating & no ingredient over a 2.
Because of how we're constantly bombarded with toxins we try to limit them where we can. Especially in regards to our skin bc it absorbs so much. We saw a pretty big difference in our special needs, delayed daughter when we switched household products.

We use babyganics. The bottle of baby soap and lotion lasts about 5/6 months. It smells nice too!

I know it's kinda hard to chose a product that's going to be 100 percent safe. So right now I've been using a Norwex body cloth on both my kids. You don't need soap but can still use a wash with the cloth. I would just use one with a 1 rating. Instead of lotion I just use coconut oil on their skin.
