anyone from texas We are looking at a job in abilene. We have never lived outside of nebraska and it scares me.

So my husband will be up there the 22 Thursday 24 saturday. My dh brother will get a company house in merkel? So my dh is going to tour abliene. And talk with the person who is offering him a job cause he hasn't seen him for 8 yrs. Then at the beginning of next year me and dh will go up there and look around.

My dh brother moves up there end of this month. And we won't hear anything till probably beginning of next year. Cause we would want to wait till summer break to move there.

Never been in abilene and all i know if is oilfields and Ice plants (my husband works for an ice company, && my dad is a pumper)

Also, my town had a cattle drive down the main street when it flooded here it Texas pretty bad.

He us not real social and only orchrastra no spirts. That is another tging, we start orchrastra in 4th grade here and we researched and they don't till 6th grade. So my one sob who will be in 4th next year won't be able to unless we did private lessons.

I would strongly reconsider moving right before your sons senior year, especially if he is social and has a lot of friends and activities. If it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up, I'd probably try to make arrangements for him to live with family if I could so he could finish.

I just hate changes, and if all goes through we would plan on moving next summer before school starts which stresses ne out a lot as its my son's senior year next year. I just stress over major changes.

I lived in Abilene from 1998-2001 because I was attending Hardin Simmons University. I haven't been there in YEARS but when I was there it was a nice town, decent shopping and good restaurants. The universities are all Christian. There is an Air Force base there as well. The downtown was small but cute and they made a real effort to have fun family friendly activities. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Like I said it's been YEARS since I've been there.

I love Texas. I've traveled all over, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. The cost of living is pretty cheap too, so $70,000 will go pretty far. Fishing on the coast, hiking Big Bend, the views in he Hill Country....plenty to do and see.

I'm in amarillo. Moved from colorado for a job making quadruple what he was making. It's okay here in amarillo just not much to do.

My sister lived in Abilene for a while. I think they would have stayed longer if it hadn't been so far away from family. It's a nice town. The library is wonderful! There's so much to do in Texas. You won't be bored!

He has a job in mind. He would start at 50,000 in a year after probation he would make 70,000. I just wondering what it's like around that area I go into anxiety every time I think about moving. It would be about 15,000 more then we are making now. So it's hard to so no we are not moving.
