I had a stent put I'm mine when I was 14 I'm 21 and pregnant and my doctors think they heard something but have no records to go off of. I was told my heart might not hold up since it has to put in a lot of over time.

I was born with a heart murmur and the consultant sent me for a ECG (echocardiogram - an ultrasound of your heart) whilst I was pregnant, it was just a precautionary check and once they got the results and everything was fine I was put back under midwife led care. Most heart murmurs are "innocent" I was told that my heart is just a bit more noisey than other people's! X

i found out i had a heart murmur at my 6 week check i had no idea i had it but was born with it my mum never metioned it neither did the doctors i was seen pretty quick cause it was left so long i had 2 ecgs and a scan and a chest xray in a month iv now got been seen every 2 years by the heart people

i was told i had one whilst i was in labour. first id heard of it and its never been mentioned since. very odd! i don't think its a major problem. well often not anyway

I also developed a heart murmur during pregnancy was told it was due to more blood been produced for baby and the heart having to work a little harder, i had a scan and all was fine, it went after i have birth!x

Worth chasing it up with your doctor tho and tell your midwife too xx

It doesn't cause any issues Hun. It might mean you need some antibiotics during labour that's all x

Ah thanks, reassured me :) I was just worried because the doctor hasn't followed it up or anything or explain to me what it is o.o

Hey, yes I went to the gp for a check on my heart as I have a strong history of heart problems in the family the dr found a murmur and sent me for an ECG, they weren't concerned as its never caused me any problems pre pregnancy. They also did and ECG on the baby whilst I was pregnant and again was happy the heart was strong and healthy! It can be really worrying but it's mostly just a precautionary procedure x
