1st time doing acupuncture

What should I expect? I'm scared of needles but I'm willing to try anything to get a bfp. She suggest I do 3 sessions before my IUI next Friday. Anyone get a bfp after trying acupunture?

Thank you Olivia.mom! I want to continue to see the lady I saw today but she might not be affordable for very long. It's $100 a session. She suggested I start 3 herb supplements, thyroid complex, adrenal complex and adapteogen -R3. Anyone had any luck with these? I hope it works and is worth the money. She said she wished I would push my IUI back to give her a month to work on me first but I just cant. I'm cd5.

See if you can find a place that runs acupuncture clinics. Those are half the price. They will have u do a initial visit one on one and charge the full price. That ranges from 70-100 here. Then clinics are usually run once or twice a week where u are in a room with at least one other person getting treatment. You only need to go once a week at most. It's less focused on you, but after your first visit, the acupuncturist knows what u are there for, so why pay more?? LOL I pay 25-37 for clinics. (My new place has a sliding scale) it's great and makes it more affordable. *some* insurances will cover certain acupuncture places. U could try to contact your insurance, but that's usually not common.

Acupuncture works by increasing blood circulation! I did it once for back aches and it fixed me. There are countless studies that help and more blood flow = more energy for baby!!! Good luck!!???

I tried acupuncture on my last IUI, it didn't work but I can feel that my heart generally felt better when I was going through acupuncture treatment. I believed it could work for me but unfortunately it didn't for IUI. But will still try it with ivf when the time comes. If u can afford it, u can try though have heard that treatments are cumulative and some people advised to do for st least 3 months before attempting to conceive. I hope this helps. Good luck ??

I didn't do it with my most recent successful, but did with my transfer in August. I'm a believer in acupuncture. I have used it frequently for anxiety. But I also believe you get out of it what you think you'll get out of it. If you believe it will work for you, it will! If you think it won't work, it won't.

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
