ants!!!
How do I get rid of them? Thier in my house. My dd had them on her feet. They just showed up over night! I hate ants! I was attacked by them as a kid and had them all over me! Iv swept and mopped and they just keep coming back!!! Any tips other than a bug spray? I don't want to use a bug spray with my two year old running around and my two month old in the house.

Put vinegar in a spray bottle and spray directly on them as well as cracks, baseboards etc.
Also I know you don't want bug spray but we had ants last year and we got Terro ant traps. They are poison but you can hide them in places like behind fridge or under the sink if you have cabinet locks. They work really good.

Following. We don't have a lot of them but every time I sweep the whole house (hardwood) I always have a few in the pile. I don't want an ant infestation!

Thank you! I hate ants so much! My dd doesn't understand yet either that they hurt when they bite. So she keeps trying to go over to them.

Mommy we don't have a lot either but I sweep them up and then mop and they keep reappearing! I'm all like die while sweeping lol.

I had a bunch of those black ants getting into my kitchen. My house isn't sealed very well. It was getting to the point they were all over the place. What we did was get a bunch of cotton balls and soaked them in a Borax/Water/Sugar mixture we made. Then we strategically placed the cotton balls around the entrances of doors and where they gathered the most. They take bits of the cotton and carry it back to their ant hills, eat it, and die. I tried this after reading it online somewhere. I was really skeptical it would work, but I needed to try something and I had all the ingredients on hand. It worked! We had ants all over the place, esp the kitchen. I haven't seen one any in the house for months. The cotton balls do end up hardening though, so you'll have to make sure you go around and toss them out once the ants are gone.

I did the vinegar recently and no matter how much/often I sprayed they kept coming back and was spreading further into the house.
I live in Apts and they ended up coming for the monthly bug spray and that's what finally did it.

Peppermint oil. You can rub it into the entry ways and any other place you see them coming in from

I tried every tip that I could find and they didn't go away fully until we had a pest control guy come :(

Diatomacious earth. You can get it at a feed store. Make sure the bag days CODEX, which indicates its food safe, and contains no toxins.

Cinnamon is supposed to keep them away.

I use grits on the ant beds outside and it seems to work. (They at least abandon the nest) I'm not sure about inside. I got sugar ants inside at our old apartment and i had to use boric acid because they wouldn't touch the grits. Good luck!

Thank you ladies. I had my dh buy a swiffer wet jet and I cleared everything out and scrubbed my floors. I haven't seen any since I scrubbed. I keep looking though. So far so good. I also called the office and they are sending someone to spray inside and outside the house. I don't really want them to spray while the kids and I are here, so I'll have to go out that day. I just can't find any trail or find where they are coming from. I can't find anything! My sister said maybe from our floor vents! I'm going to spray them all tonight with vinegar before we goto bed!

Well last night dh used raid by our vents. So we get up today and the vents are clear but the ants were back! I got bit on my thigh and the bite is getting bigger and it was huge when it happened! This sucks. I think I'm allergic. Only thing is this didn't happen when I was attacked so I dont know why its getting bigger. It stings and burns too. Our landlady called the pest control but they won't spray when a child under three months lives in the house hold. Now I have to wait until the first to have anything professionally done. Ashlynn is only 2 and half months.

No amount of spraying will get rid of them. You have to kill the queen and the ants will die off. We had this same problem. They were showing up everywhere, even the restrooms and we were very careful of not leaving anything out. My husband sprayed everywhere inside and out for months and months yet a wk or two later they show up somewhere else in the house. So we went to Lowes and found this bottle that contained granules that you sprinkle on the outside perimeter of the house. The ants are suppose to take those granules to the nest like they do with food. The queen is fed and dies from eating the poison and then the nest dies off. We haven't seen an ant since we've sprinkled that and that was done 2-3 months ago.

Borax! They take it into their home to eat and they all die.

I made a spray with essential oils, witch hazel as a carrier. Mix clove oil and peppermint oil in the witch hazel... We are actually seeing less every day and we usually have a ton from being in the country!
