would you

Slap someone's hand away from your child after witnessing their fingers in their mouth?? I would and I did today. Crazy lady was telling me that my dd's pants were too tight. (They are perfectly ok). Then she decided to tell me about all her dental problems. ( Really do not care about your mouth unless your MY patient) Then this crazy lady tries to touch my dd after having her hands all over her nasty teeth and mouth! So I slapped her hand away. She was offended and told me her hands are clean..um no they are not. Do not touch my baby. Then she asks me if she can babysit!!!! HELL NOOO!!!! I don't know you and I wouldnt let you touch her what on earth makes you think I'm going to let you watch her??!!

@yami lmao! I just died reading that. That is funny.

@mustang, don't let her get to you. My nieces and nephews had all kinds of people try to touch them. My sister has stopped more than one kid from touching. Your mama instincts kicked in!

Pp, I absolutely cannot stand when people try to stick their fingers in her mouth!! That is gross. I always freak out about it.

I would do the same OP. After having a baby it's amazing to me how many strangers think it's okay to touch your child. So uncomfortable. I've never slapped a hand away but I've touched someone's face after they touched my baby's face. Like oh did that make you uncomfortable? GTFO

That's fcking gross i would definitely slap someones hand away. SIL who is 10 , everytime mil holds DS (5 months old) SIL will be like "do you want to suck on my finger" & MIL has to tell her no every time. It makes me super uncomfortable. Then she reaches out her arms to grab my DS from MIL trying to undermine me after I've clearly established rules that no kids are to hold him. Suuuuper annoying.

I'm a huge germaphobe so I guess I don't have to say anything more lol

And that same child is 2 1/2 now and has pretty fantastic manners. Always says please and thank you to everyone, but thanks for that jab at trying to make me feel like I'm a crappy mom.

I did the only thing that I could reasonably do at the time, and We are all seriously trying to do our best, and making blows like insulting my child's manners is a pretty low thing to do. I try my hardest to empower the women around me and not try to insult how they parent. Because after that first child I got PPD really bad and was suicidal and I don't want anyone to ever feel the way that I did.

It wasn't a forceful push at all. It was more of a moving her out of the way. She seriously popped up out of nowhere and was going in to kiss my child. She and her grandma had just come out of the handicapped stall and all I saw was her grandma in the mirror, and then she was literally right there. I had no time to react any other way as I had just undone his diaper and was holding his legs up and grabbing wipes.

I'm not sorry about how I reacted because I would prefer people think I'm a horrible person than to have some random child, whom I don't know or have any affiliation with, kissing my child.

Her grandma wasn't mad that I had pushed her away, her grandma was mad that I didn't let her kiss my baby. She said, "she just wants to give him a sweet kiss" and I told her "that's sweet but I don't let strangers kiss my child". Then they washed their hands and went on their merry way and I finished changing my child's diaper. :)

I explain to my preschool class that they shouldn't touch babies with their hands. Their hands are full of germs and can make babies sick. We get infant siblings in the room when parents pick up. I know that they should teach their children manners/watch their children. However, pushing a child's face is completely inappropriate. If you can get in there to physically push a child's face away. .. why not just block and politely say no thank you & explaining that they shouldn't kiss strangers . No wonder kids grow up without manners.

@mustang, I understand that! I went to mcdonalds and had to stop all these kids trying to touch her in the bathroom. I probably would have done that too if they tried kissing my baby.

I was in the middle of changing his poopy diaper. He was Laying on the koala thing and his diaper was open, otherwise I would have just grabbed him. But he was all out in the open.

Yes I would have

@mustang, I would have pushed her too, then yelled at both of them before they even tried to yell at me. That is gross, rude, and dangerous. At 5, that girl should know better. Plus the grandma should have been paying attention to her!

@mustang

I like you, really.

I think it would've been more appropriate to pick up your baby, and hold her out of the child's reach than it was to push a five year old in the face. BUT, I understand reacting instinctually, before thinking through your actions.

I pushed a little five year old away from my newborn. I was at lunch with a friend and took him into the bathroom to change his diaper and this little girl came up and was going to kiss him and I pushed her face away. Her grandma got pissed at me and I told her that she needed to teach her granddaughter that you don't kiss random babies. Especially ones you are not related to.

@Kelli this guy was all up in my dd face at the store! I told him to back up. He was all smiling deviently ( sp?). It was creepy!

Pp, I didn't know this Lady. It was someone on the bus! She was crazy.

I would have slapped their hand too! That's disgusting. I'm already iffy about people I know touching my lo in case they are sick and don't know yet (my MIL was all over my ds last week, next day came down with the flu). A stranger or someone I don't know well trying to touch my lo, especially after seeing that, would result in my taking immediate action. People need to use some d*mn sense!

There is a creepy guy that works at Safeway. One day dh was carrying dd. The guy came up to him and was about to touch Pebbles. I think dh was about ready to hit the guy.

I would have done the same thing! I am due in a few months and the thought of strangers possibly trying to touch my baby while we are out in public makes me crazy! I know babies are cute but hands off!!

Нравится Ответить

That's pretty gross!!

I probably would've just blocked her hand and told her she just had her hands all up in her mouth, don't touch my baby.

But maybe my first reaction would've been to slap her hand and tell her wtf are you thinking...I guess I wouldn't really know unless I was in that situation.

Yes but I'm a violent butthole.....seriously I would slap & scream at her

Yeah, I would have slapped her hand away then walked away too. I had an old lady follow me through Fred Meyer trying to peek at my then 5 week old, who was a preemie. It was December, he was in his car seat with a blanket over it and I'd peek in periodically. I finally told her to go away because he was sleeping and I wasn't uncovering him.

What was the setting? Was she a patient, co-worker, friend, acquaintance, stranger? That makes a huge difference.

If my mom was touching her mouth and then tried to fix my son's clothing I'd just be like "ewww mom" and she'd go wash her hands.if this was a stranger in the store, hell yeah I'd slap them.but I don't like conversations like that with people I don't know in the first place

Screw that. I would have slapped her hand away as well. That's just nasty.

I'm so sorry!
My heart hurts for you. I would sue the s*** out of those doctors.
So sad and heartbreaking. Brought tears to my eyes. No mother should lose her child so young
