at my wits end
I'm at wits end with my sister's son. He refuses to eat. He refuses to stop crying. He is waking up Alisa with his crying. He is crying bc I said its time to eat. Seriously I'm fed up! I stood him at the wall for 5 mins. He still won't eat! If he won't eat he will go home and tell my sister I'm not feeding them! I dk what to do with him anymore! He gets away with everything at home and now he thinks he can do that here! I would never hit him but I want to give him a pop on his bottom... I'm losing my mind. I put him at the table and told him he wasn't allowed down until he finished. He tried shoving it all in his mouth. I told him to slow down and stop shoving it in his mouth and he started crying hysterically! I'm going to tell my sister that she can find another baby sitter if this does not stop! I have them Mon-Fri and, every single day without fail I have to listen to him cry hysterically, from the time she leaves till the time she gets back! My last nerve is wearing thin!

How old is he?

Dont feed him at a set time. Wait for him to say he ia hungry and ask him constantly but dont force it on him. Savea the fights and tears.

You didn't say how old he is but forcing a toddler to eat isn't gonna work out for you. My son gets busy and won't always tell me he's hungry but I always ask him if he's ready to eat, if he says no I ask about 15 minutes later. Toddlers don't really get that they're supposed to eat 3 meals a day, they just kinda graze

Pfft my 5 going on 6 year old son is almost the same way! Especially when it comes to eating. All the time though and he is definitely not allowed to do as he pleases nor does he get away with anything either. I'm pulling my hair out by the end of the day and want to pull a homer vs Bart Simpson on him sometimes. Beyond frustrating. No clue how to fix it either. I've tried all kinds of stuff.

Punishments for not eating just backfire.
Most kids don't eat if they're not hungry and forcing your will on them creates fits

He told me he was hungry! That why I made him food. He is almost 4. He wouldn't wat bc his mom isn't here. He did eventually but I shouldn't have to fight with him when he says he wants to eat and then refuses bc mom isn't here.

I set out food on a table in the livingroom and my kids will eat it. But if I tell them to eat it or mention it's there, then they either ignore it or throw it on the floor. Kids like doing the opposite of what grownups say for some reason.

Toddler/preschooler hungry is not what we as adults understand hungry to be.
A bite or two will satisfy them. However if he's not eating because his mom isn't there them just put the food out and leave him be. Kids have emotions and you are choosing to fight with him. You don't have to.

When he says he is hungry give him options. Once he has picked his food if he doesn't eat it then just leave it available for him for when he is ready. If he throws tantrums over the food redirect him or ignore it. I wouldn't punish him. He is 3. Try different fun food ideas.

You need to talk to your sister and make her aware of the situation. She probably already knows her kid is a handful. But you need her approval on how to discipline her child. She can probably point out things that work and things that don't. Maybe she can explain to him how to behave at your house. Don't force him to eat, you will just end up with a big mess to clean. I know it's frustrating when a kiddo asks for food and then refuses it. But this is your sisters problem, ask her to come up with a solution.

Babies/toddlers kind of run on their own time.
When I would baby sit in would always wait until they said they were hungry. When they would get fussy and not want to finish I would portion out what they had to finish before leaving the table. When they think they have to eat all of it they tend to freak out.
