My needs???? No! Her needs!!
My needs???? No! Her needs!!
Is it selfish to want to stay home tonight? Its cold and I don't want Alisa to get sick. Her immune system isn't very strong bc she is preemie. Well df says I'm only thinking of myself bc he wants to go out. He wants to go to his friends house... where there will be drinking and people smoking pot! I'm not taking my dd there! I'm only thinking of her well being. He told me " you're keeping our baby away from my friends!" ...... Well I'm sorry your friends smoke pot and I'm sorry its to cold! I'm even sorry my body failed me and our dd was born early!.... But she is still staying in tonight.

He wants her to go somewhere they will be smoking pot? Is he a moron?

He's being immature and definitely only thinking of himself. Once you become a parent its your responsibility to automatically do what's best for your child. I would never take my child around anyone smoking pot! He's not even around cigarette smoke and he's 20 months.
Stand your ground and do what's right for your baby!!

He doesn't smoke pot... I wouldn't deal with that crap! I'm definitely not going though. I couldn't care less if he goes. I wouldn't hold him back but I won't subject my baby to all that.

What a winner he is.?
Good for you for putting your babies needs before anyone else's.

My son was a prem n i refused to go out aswell. Esp to his brothers where they all do drugs n man was i called everything under the sun from df brother n his gf. Lucky for me my df stood his ground n stuck up for me n even said he didn't want our kid exposed to that. Took his brother over 6months to meet our son. Stand ur ground lovely n if they miss out the that's their fault. N tell ur partner to stfu n put his child first not his friends n if he wants to expose his child weather its premi or not to that crap then there is the door. What a selfish idiot.

The fact that he's angry that you don't want to bring your preemie baby around drunks and potheads means that he must be high himself. Tell him that you will bring your baby around his friends in a more appropriate, child friendly environment.

Do you really need us to validate your reasoning in this situation ?

So much for thinking of her health. She can't be out in this weather nor around that kind of stuff. How inconsiderate of him. Men ugh

@Mrs.poet she is 6 months 4 months adjusted. She was born at 31 weeks 3 days. You guys are right. I even told him he can go if he wants but now he's saying "I'm not going anywhere without the baby" so I said "how lovely of you to stay home with us tonight!" He just sat down.

Good for you op I have a preemie too and I would have done the same thing. My son isn't allowed to be around drugs, cigarettes or alcohol and when it's cold, he stays in.
deleted-user·
If I was in your shoes, I would laugh at what he said, put my pjs on and tell him to go have fun.
No way I'd be taking a preemie out. Nope.
deleted-user·
You can tell him that my kids aren't premies.. but we are still staying home. So if he misses bringing in the new year with his drunk high friends booo hooo

@poet she is doing really good! She had a rough month in the nicu but is doing so good now. She just started fully rolling to her tummy. And she started scootching on her back. She babbles all the time and is short like a nb baby but weighs 14.5 lbs. Iv been following your posts. How is your lo doing?
@hi.how. girl I didn't even change from my PJs! Lol.
Thanks for all the replies. I am standing my ground and not going anywhere. He knows I'm not playing around with her health. I care more about my dd then his friends feelings. Alisa comes first.... your friends come last! Plus on the news they say there will be people shooting tonight?....I live in Vegas, my area sucks! I'm not even walking out my door to see the fireworks from the strip. I'm very close by too. But, I don't want (anyone) to get shot!
deleted-user·
You're doing the right thing, OP. Our children come first.
deleted-user·
Yeah...no. not a chance. No way. Not happening. I've already said my child won't set foot in his grandparents house bc they smoke indoors. Not sorry at all. Your child is your priority and if he doesn't get that, he doesn't get being a dad yet.
deleted-user·
He........... Needs to grow the f* up!
deleted-user·
I would've laughed in his face and said oh yeah so selfish what a prick he is
deleted-user·
What an ass! U did right thing mama
deleted-user·
OP, I live in Vegas too in a not so nice area next to the strip. We are staying in! Stay warm and safe.

Who wants to bring a baby to a party like that? He's being an idiot
