No self control

My dd's birthday party is Sunday and I said I wasn't going to spend a lot this year but it's too late now. Anyone else never able to stay on budget for their kids parties either?

I set a budget a few months in advance (4 mo. last year) and put cash aside out of each paycheck until the party came. So I knew exactly how much I’d have to spend and changed gears as needed.

I.E. spent less on paper goods so I spent a little more on favors that I thought would be used vs just junk.

Holidays were a huge deal to my mom because they weren't to her mom as a child, so I am over the top as well. It's how I raised so my parties all have a theme and all are way too much, but I get so much joy out of it that it doesn't matter.

My husband says I over compensate for my childhood. I usually blow the budget I make for myself when it comes to my kids.

I'm a shocker for present budgets. We had a $100 limit and probably ended up spending $200. Also, I sent DH to the cake shop to get a cake and instead of getting their $20 cakes, he brought the $70 huge rainbow cake. There was only 4 people present. ?

Cams where did she get the food from? Lol.

We are just doing pizza and cupcakes this year but I'm having her party where she takes gymnastics because they have 2 bounce houses and get to use the trampolines and foam pits. It will be worth it not to have everyone at our house and for dd to be worn out after lol.

Never! I set a budget and always blow it. My dd just had her bday yesterday and I spent way too much. We still have to have her party with her friends next weekend.

My MIL spent over $500 on ds1 first birthday for the food to be catered. I just about crapped my pants.

I have a hard time staying in budget for Christmas ? and I always spend too much on stocking stuffers because I'm a sucker for all that cute little stuff
