What can I give my 5 year old for a sore throat

May sound gross but drinking warm jello coats the throat and helps soothe it

I use ibuprofen, or Zarbees cough syrup and throat soothers.

Ugh @fitmomma that’s the only thing I didn’t think of that I have on hang!! Like I said if he’s worst or still the same hoarse cough I’ll probably take him in to be seen. Thanks again for all your input ladies. I really appreciate it!! Even though I couldn’t get the stuff from the store. I’ll be going out tomorrow am for honey and cough drops. He will do fine with them but I’ll look for the lollipops first!!

Thanks pp. the gargling didn’t go so well lol. He spit the salt water out right away!! He’s in bed now I’m hoping he sleeps all night but I’m sure he will be up coughing!! If he’s not any better in the am I’m taking him to the dr. His cough is so hoarse. I’m hoping it’s not strep or anything like that

When I had a really bad sore throat what helped me but was really disgusting was apple cider vinegar just swish it dont swallow but it really worked felt better right away just felt like I smelled like it & after that never done it again just because it's nasty

There are cough drop lollipops. We like those because we don't have to worry about him choking like he probably would on a normal cough drop

Ugh I know we don’t have any honey!! And unfortunately we don’t have popsicles and are in the middle of a nor’easter storm!! I could try to run to the drug store for some stuff!! I feel so bad for him I know he’s feeling crappy!!
