Thanks ladies. Oh I know first hand no one can make anyone quit. Like I said I quit after many years of smoking and I used her as my motivation because she was so sick last December. After I talked to her that time I put the cigs down for good. I don’t want to be 54 years old and like her!!! It’s just making me very upset because I really do love her but u can’t help someone who won’t help themselves

1 800 quit now can give her the support she needs, but she has to be ready ?

Its easier said than done everyone in my fam smokes and half of them drink heavily.. My aunt just passed away bc she basically drank herself to death and that still didnt open anyones eyes.

It sucks but noone can make someone quit besides themselves.. I truly hope she has the strength to do it for herself..and family bc it sounds like you huys care a big deal about her?

I know @bobbi it’s like she just doesn’t care anymore!!! It’s very upsetting seeing her so sick like this. But I feel like this is only the beginning of her sickness

If she really wants to stop, then she needs to have a serious conversation with her doctor.

Update my mil went to work today and ended up passing out at work. She was taken to the er by ambulance. I’m waiting for my husband to get home then I’m going to be with her. Because I don’t think she’s telling us the truth on how serious things really are!! I’m so upset I could cry. I’m very worried they will tell her she has lung cancer

No @michelle I was there with her yesterday and she was coughing so bad. She said it felt like all her ribs were broken because she’s been coughing like this for a full week now!! And there she goes lighting up a cig!! Like wtf I just don’t get it. I know cigs are terribly addictive because I had to break the habit (last smoke was December of 2016) and it was so tough but I looked at her and knew I didn’t want to be like her at 54!!!

Geez and that’s not enough for her to quit. That’s tough!

@lisa she’s tried the patches before but gives up after like 1/2 a day. Again I know how hard it is to quit but like if I was getting that sick every time I had a cold I’d quit so fast!!!

Yes @lisa that’s my hope. But I was there for like 2 hours and she had more then 2 smokes in that time!!! It’s just very frustrating

Yes she was my motivation to quit. Last December she got really sick just like this!!! Not to mention she’s only 54 years old. She’s very young

Unfortunately now her body is dependent on them if she just had to stop her body wouldn’t cope, hopefully she can gradually reduce and eventually stop xx

This sounds like my aunt. She has asthma and any cold she gets turns into bronchitis. She has had a heart attack in her early 30's, with 3 blood clots, and also had breast cancer but still continues to smoke.

Now I’ll start this by saying I love my mil very much. She recently got very sick with a cold. But the kicker is every time she gets a cold she gets bronchitis why because she’s a very heart smoker!!! I went over yesterday because she took herself to the hospital the night before because she couldn’t breath and ended up passing out in the er. Well she left the hospital AMA and went home to continue to smoke!!! Now I’m a former smoker so I know how hard it is to quit but for the

Love of god please lady just quit already!!! She watched her mother die of lung cancer and her brother too!!! Makes me sad to know that one day she will die due to lung cancer. She already has COPD and emphysema!!!
