Anyone else's baby just quit nursing??
So my son turned 1 on tues and 2 days before his bday he got sick with a cold and he started teething. Well the night before his bday he wouldn't nurse before bed then I offered the breast all day tues and he wanted no parts of it. He just quit nursing wasn't quite ready for that!!! Anyone else have that happen???

My LO started to reject my breast about 2 weeks before his 1st birthday. He didn't quit cold turkey but he decided he no longer wanted to nurse during the day and preferred only solids so we simply continued nursing at night which was perfect for me since I was planning on weaning him after his 1st birthday anyway. He is now officially a year and a week old and today marks the first day/night he doesn't nurse. Long story short, my LO essentially self-weaned right around his 1st birthday. Hope this helps!

Yes thank you. I really wasn't expecting that to happen at all. Thought I was gonna have a tough time weaning so I'm happy I won't. Just sad it ended so quick. Thanks for the response

I agree...I had heard about babies/toddlers self-weaning but I never expected that would be the case for us however, I am glad that it was. I'm content in knowing that we stopped nursing because HE was ready to do so and not simply because I was ready. Our nursing experience ended on a happy note ????

I didn't even know that my last time I nursed him was gonna be the last time so I'm sad for that. But happy it ended well also. He was addicted too so I'm still in shock lol
