Returning to work
*Yes this is my second post today*
Thanks PP. I am looking forward to seeing all my friends. But I have extra anxiety because even though I'm breastfeeding and working out almost daily I still have about 35lbs of pregnancy weight to lose. I have to ask for a bigger uniform which is a HUGE confidence blow. Especially since the last six girls who came back from maternity leave were smaller than their Pre pregnancy size.
Well I may be the exception here but I was really excited to go back. I had been off for 9 months at that point (1 month before I had her and then 8 months after). I was ready to go back so no tears for us!
It's pretty awesome that it will be time that she's sleeping anyhow AND you are pumping at night which is when they say all the good milk is made ;)
Good luck!
Thanks ladies. Thankfully my job requires me to be focused. Hopefully I can keep the tears at bay. Lo is 2 1/2 months old and I'm thankful I had the time with him. Dh works during the day and at 5pm we will switch off. Hopefully I'll figure out when to sleep since lo is up every two to three hours and hardly naps during the day. I suppose it's extra frustrating because lo is sick and we have a Dr. Appointment Monday. Hello extra stress.
I started going to school first twice and then four times a week when dd was about 8 months old. I cried a little in the car before getting out, but then I just focused on my classes and tried to keep myself busy.
Now dd is 19 months, ds is 6 months and I'm away for 7 hours twice a week. I have 3 back to back classes, so I don't have much time to worry about the kids until I'm on my way home.
Try to keep busy and know that it gets better. Good luck!
My first day back was terrible. She was 3 months old at the time. I was ok until I walked in and everyone started trying to talk to me and ask 10,000 questions!
As soon as I walked in the door:
Co worker: OMG! How are you? How is Kinsley?
Me: quickly walks away balling my eyes out! I didn't even talk to anyone!
Now my second day...no problem at all! Now DD is 9 months old and she goes to daycare part time and I work part time! We are both happy! She loves all of her school friends! She is always so happy while there. You will be ok after a few days! Good luck!
F those b**** es! Just kidding ;)
It sucks but if you eat well, work out, AND breastfeed, you'll get where you want to be and back in the smaller uniform sooner or later. Sometimes you just hold onto the extra weight to make milk and when your body no longer needs it, it'll melt off.
