And it begins. ..

My birth month has officially gone crazy (caster oil self induction attempts, debates that babies are "full term" at 37 weeks, ect) I think I'll stay over here until everyone pops out their baby.

I haven't checked but it sounds like January? I lurk through there sometimes. My due date is on the 1st and I cannot imagine doing any of those things.

It doesn't help that BB app says full term is 37 weeks and people believe that. My doctor said not to even think about inducing until 39 weeks only if I am at 4cm and under his care. I don't understand why so many want to self induce so early.

I actually never heard of this concept nor has any doctor ever mentioned it. I have 3 children and about to have #4. I would of never thought of this crap or even considered it.

I'm due in January. (I'm not trying to start a forum war, just an observation). It's crazy and frustrating. I want my little man to stay put as long as he wants.

That's how I feel. She can stay in there until ready. Just like all my boys. No reason to rush things.

Lol I just can't deal with these girls today. I'm to hungry and hormonal to go back and forth with them. Just ridiculous.

And like I said on that board it doesn't matter how uncomfortable I am, my child is staying in as long as she wants.

Nothing pisses me off more than when their reasons for trying all these methods is because they are tired and uncomfortable..wow how do they think that people such as myself that have other issues with the pregnancy feel and sorry u have to sacrifice comfort for a couple more weeks

I would never take castor oil but I'm 39 weeks and I'll admit I'm so ready to have this baby!!!! And false labor isn't helping. It just gets my hopes up! I'm grateful she's healthy and full term don't get me wrong but I wanna meet this little girl!!!!!!

Yeah, I saw that. I'd rather just let her come when she wants to. I do tell her every day that she isn't even allowed to come till after 38weeks. I'm at risk for preterm labor so I just keep hoping she stays put! I'd love to meet her but I'd rather her be full term. I only have 5 weeks to go!

I saw that meme I liked it. Cause it's the truth. But they must not be telling their doctors because I would think a doctor (a good one anyway) would advise against that.

I agree. It's a whole lot of crazy of there. Was wondering if I was the only one who although I'm in all kinds of pain and discomfort wouldn't mind going a couple days over. Jan 3 will be here before I know it.

Goodness that month is insane. And what kind of doctor schedules all of his patients to be induced by 40 weeks because they don't think it's right for the mom to be that uncomfortable?!?! Uhm what. Lol I'm a planner and I like to go by a schedule. The whole EDD is great as long as he doesn't come before then. I planned for January 27th I will keep my legs crossed until then haha. A little early is okay, but I prefer he just hang out.

I had my son at 37 and I was so upset lol. I wanted him to stay longer and I didn't even get to do my belly cast :(

Just curious how many of the pp are doctors? Not just doctors but OB's? I am sorry but I will take my doctors opinion that 37 weeks is term over anyone's on this board. Most of the suggestions women make are things that you are allowed to do or even encouraged to do anyway, like walking (fitness is good right to the end) and sitting on a yoga ball (helps baby get into proper position and can be comfy). No one is suggesting skydiving, horseback riding or jousting, no one is putting their child in danger. My last came totally on his own at 37 weeks and was 8lbs and healthy. This one I have been "taking it easy" because of contractions since 29 weeks, but once 37 weeks hit I will going back to my normal routine, which includes walking, sex, running after two small children and sitting on a yoga ball with a clear conscience.

Just to explain a little more there was a post on the January page asking for what helped others and it stated that other had different opinions but asked for no bashing. All of the suggestions were literally things like going for a walk or having sex and the original poster had to jump on and talk about skydiving, horseback riding and jousting. I have seen her bashing other people's opinion on the topic quite a few times so I just wanted to express my opinion. As I said my research comes from asking my doctors, I trust they have the most accurate and current knowledge on pre and postnatal care.

Ugh I will never understand people that try to self induce at like 37 weeks. My first was born at 36 weeks, so by the time I got to 37 weeks with my second I already felt like I was overdue lol. But even then I didn't even attempt any self inducing methods til his EDD.. Which when that came around all I did was walk a lot, eat spicy food, had sex and bounced on my ball a bit. I just don't understand why people are so eager to get their babies out before they are ready! My views might be clouded though.. A million doctors, an oxygen mask (for baby) and being kept away from her for 5 hours was enough to scare me of early labour ?

Wow! I was gone for a few hours and came back to this! Thats the last time I go looking at X-Mas lights with my dh and ignore BB. @tzdreams did my response really bother you so much that you came over to R&R to hunt me down?? Wow I feel so special. Clearly we have different views on what's considered "bashing". Looking back at my posts I've never been "rude" or "bashed" another mother. Have I been sarcastic? Yes! Rude? Nope. If you are 36-37 weeks and trying to self induce because you are "exhausted" or your "back hurts" yes I will call you selfish. Because that's what you are. Putting your own discomfort over your lo's health IS selfish.
