My LO got one on Friday. No bad reactions besides a little redness at the injection site. We did it because he's in daycare and they pass colds around like crazy!
No one can get the flu from a flu shot, it is not a live vaccine. You might feel a little achey like after all other vaccines. If you do get sick, you were already exposed to the virus before you got the shot.
We decided against it. Neither hubby or I have ever gotten it and we are fine. We opted for just the required vaccinations.
I am/will not ever get it again, or give my baby or other children the flu vaccination. I have never gotten a flu shot until this last time I was pregnant, basically bc my Dr scared me into getting it. Anyway, I wound up getting the flu a month later even though I had the shot. Turns out the flu shot only cover certain stings of the flu & it is really for the season before. In my opinion it is pointless to get it, especially bc getting the shot can sometimes actually give you the flu :/
Just FYI the flu shot CAN give your baby the flu. They're injecting you with a virus so there's a slight chance that they can get it just like us adults. I personally say no because I don't want to take the risk
My son had is 6 month visit 4 days ago and they asked about giving the flu shot to my son and my husband and I agreed to get it done.
My son got the flu shot at his 6mo appt. I decided getting the flu is worse for him than getting the shot.
We have chosen to decline the flu shot for our daughter. Neither my husband nor myself have gotten flu shots either. I have a number of family members with egg allergies, so for us, it's not worth the risk. I know it's been wonderfully beneficial for others though. It just comes down to personal preference. Do whatever you feel is right for your child. Whatever you decide is perfectly fine. You know what's best for your child and your family. :)
Nope nope nope I don't get them my hubby doesn't and neither does my parents or his. The only time I ever got one I got the flue so bad I was down for like 2 weeks.
I chose against it for Ds. Last year when DD(18m) was 9months, she got the flu shot and 2 days later she had RSV. The ped said that it was just a a surprise that it happened like that, but I can't do it again. They said aslong as the adults who they are around have one we should be good.
My son got the flu shot. I work in outpatient and in a hospital as a physical therapist so I'm all up in sick people's faces during treatments. I don't want to bring home something to my baby, so he is vaccinated against everything we can!
Studies on the flu shot show a more than 70% reduction in flu hospitalizations for infants who get the shot. Negative reactions are rare and most children can receive the vaccine without any problems (exceptions for kids with egg allergies). The flu shot will not cause the flu.
Thanks ladies for your input. I will talk to their pediatrician about it further and decide
I will be getting my son flu shot when he go next Friday for his 6 months. I have given them to my other 2 children since they were 6 months with no problem. My oldest is almost 3 1/2 and my second born is almost 23 months. No problems with the shot.
Young kids really need a flu shot. I never get them but my son is getting his next month.
My dr recommended I got it when we went for our 6 month.. Even tho I vaccinated my first around flu season I. Hose to wait with her because she had a cold and already had gotten shots.. I may make an appt in the next few weeks
The flu SHOT will not give your baby the flu and could prevent your baby from getting it or make it less severe if they do get it. If your baby gets the flu at this age, there is a possibility of death. My baby got the flu shot.
My son went yest for his check up...and they asked but i said no. I never had flu shot or given my older two girls it. Luckily never gotten badly sick either. I dont want to get sick or any reactions for me or kids from it.

flu shot.. Who all will be getting a flu shot and when? And if not what is your reasoning?
My friend just told me that once you have your baby they get a hepatitis b shot and flu shot automatically. I don't know how I feel about the flu shot.🤔
flu shot Who else has gotten the flu shot?
I got the flu shot on Tuesday. ... but why do some women disagree on getting the shot while pregnant? ?

People say the shot doesn't give them the flu, but when my son was 6 months I got his regular vaccines and skipped the flu shot I made a SEPERATE apt for the shot because I didn't want to give him so many at once, anyways they only give half doses they gave him his first half and he was sooo sick all night he was crying with fever etc for a few days he was absolutely miserable and they wanted me back for the other half dose I never went back and will never get him another one again.. I don't get the flu shot and my kids will not either (my opinion) my dad gets the shot every year needless to say he is still sick all the time everyone has their own thought on this, this is just mine from experience
