Flue shots for baby Anyone having baby take the flu shot? Why or why not? Pediatrician recommended it but I'm not sure.

Because my son was fighting a cold at his 6 month appointment a few weeks ago, he will get his flu shot later this month. I have only had a flu shot twice and both times I got really sick, so I am passing on it. My husband has never had any problem. If my son gets sick from it like I do, then he won't get the second dose.

We were told at the six month appt. I never got the shot. But I've heard ppl that got sick soon after getting it. I will talk to their pedi about it

I will have her got it. I watch little kids during the days at our house. I've always gotten it, my mom works at my pediatrician now my daughters pediatrician, and it's recommended at 6 month shots. I've always gotten it and never had s problem with it. I think it's necessary but to each their own.

Not sure because I didn't know they could get it this young. But my dh is mandated to get it and he just got a dead virus- nasal spray. Not supposed to get sick.

I think I'm going to have Harper get it since my son is in school & loves all over her. Better safe

I will when he gets his 6 month shots. I get mine every year and I work with children so I rather not take the chance. It's entirely up to you

We are not. Because for some reason when we get ours we all get the flu. Both me and hubby and all our kids. So we passing on this one.

They give it in two doses for children under 1. And then after 1 it's one dose. I am personally against it but my boys are going to start daycare soon so I don't know if it's best to get it as a prevention

Nope. The inserts say not for children under 5

I thought they couldn't get it until they were 1 & recommend for parents instead? I could be wrong

I will be when it is recommended. We spend alot of time around other kids with classes we take and I just would feel more comfortable having her get it.
