no sex after embroyo transfer?!

They told me no sex 5 days after transfer, there are mixed opinions on whether or not that is necessary!

The other time intercourse may be discouraged is following an embryo transfer during an IVF cycle. This period called “pelvic rest” is recommended anywhere from five days to two weeks after transfer – when a pregnancy test can be reliably administered. This rest gives the embryo optimal time to implant into the uterine wall. Most IVF patients can resume normal sexual activity a week or two after their embryo transfer, but always check with your doctor or nurse prior.

My office says no sex until first ultrasound...Sigh...

My office told me no intercourse until at least blood test and then if positive most likely wait till after first ultrasound

My office said no sex for 10 days after egg retrieval....Which would have been 5dp5dt. (The instructions actually said 10 days after retrieval OR when no longer bleeding/pain).....They only told me no strenuous activities for 24 hours after transfer then I can resume normal activities while some people are prescribed bed rest for a few days. DH and I had sex 4dp5dt and got our BFP. (I was afraid to orgasm though so I didn't until positive blood test ???)

I am 13 weeks 3 days and DH and I have remained sexually active throughout pregnancy atleast twice a week from 4dp5dt.

I wonder why different doctors give different instructions... It guess it is important to listen to your own doctor and your body .

I was told no nothing until after the first ultrasound to confirm the heartbeat. I had a few, umm, midnight incidences in my sleep though, and baby is just fine ?

I had done few IVFs with different REs and they had different opinions... one RE said both are fine sex and orgasms. Other RE said no till blood test and another till ultrasound.

The only cycle that worked for me was one where I had sex about 4 days after transfer. ☺️

If it's no sex until ultrasound that is a LONG time ? most doctors only do the ultrasound at 7 weeks.

Is it not maybe in case you fall pregnant naturally?

Yup the dr confirmed with me today no orgasms till first ultra sound at 7 weeks meanwhile they pump me with hormones . tortured over here but i dont want to risk anything going wrong so tortured i will stay till july 10th..
