NST....BORING
Ok, I hate being considered "high risk due to AMA". I just started seeing a high risk dr today and I've been poked..for blood, scanned...for amniotic fluid amount and monitored for baby's heart rate...etc etc. This is going to be twice a week ??? Now the doctors are telling me they want to induce at 39 weeks just because of my age (46).?? This SUCKS??...Oh btw...all of my test came back NORMAL...WTF???!!!
Um, no!! You should not be considered high-risk just because of AMA!! I’m 40, but my OB & midwife have both said they’d rather have a healthy lady in her 40s than a patient who is not-so-healthy in her 20s. I would not stand for any “high-risk interventions” just because of age!! IF there are other medical conditions present, that could be another story.
Any high risk pregnancy mamas here ? I'm still early in my pregnancy but since I'm high risk I have appointments every week sometimes two times a week I'm already over it 😩

Only benefit of being high risk. In two weeks, I start weekly ultrasounds to measure my cervix. Waiting on a call from my OB to make an appointment to start progesterone injections. Two appointments every week. 😂😂
are any mommies to be high-risk? I am because of my kidney disease. With my first child I didn't have high risk because I didn't have my disease but now I'm always worried.
Hi
I am into my 15 week now
But since last two days am not having good feeling....I just feel something is wrong inside wid d kid...all my symptoms r too less
Morning sickness is gone....Metallic taste of my tounge is also less....and I feel pain in my abdoman twice or thrice which is very minor though
What should i do i am very confused
Already have gone through 5 scans because of changing gynec
Just feel that untill i hear the heartbeat or see my kid i wont b ok....got sleepless nights
I am so stressed right now!!!
My OB doesn’t want to take me anymore because I am too “high risk” so I got a new one they don’t want to see me either. They referred me to a group one hour way from my house. But there is only one high risk dr and he doesn’t know if he could see me.
I feel like I should not see any at this point.
My doula had some of the most freeing advice in regards to this, as I’m having a similar experience. She said, “it’s not healthy to be stubborn, but I want to empower you to say no to some of these extra tests if they stress you out.”
For some reason, saying “empower” helped me a lot. I’m scheduled for twice a week NSTs because of twins, yet my NSTs have been normal. And while I haven’t dropped them down to once a week yet, it felt amazing being given permission (being EMPOWERED) to say “things have been normal, can we drop this to once a week?”
So we here at the bump forums EMPOWER you to talk to your doctor and perhaps suggest that because things have been normal, maybe you don’t need to do all the extra stuff and keep it at a minimum? ?
(Okay maybe not WE at the bump forums, but me personally! And good luck, these last few weeks are way harder but soon enough it’ll all be irrelevant because we will have our babies!!!)
