So frustrated!!!!

Last weekend, Dh and I made plans to go to a big pumpkin patch an hour and a half away with my parents. I have been looking forward to it all week. They have a lot of fun activities for our 2 year old to do etc. My parents live an hour away from us and since it's in the opposite direction, we are taking separate cars and we're meeting them there. Dh just called me saying that he has good and bad news. The bad news is that he has to work out of town all day tomorrow now, and the "good" news is that he will he will get paid 14 hours of overtime. I know it's irrational and it's because of my crazy hormones, but I got pissed at him and then started to cry. I would rather have a weekend with my family together than have stupid overtime pay. Now our weekend has been cut in half and that also means one less day where I have help taking care of our 2 year old. I don't normally need help, but I have been so ridiculously exhausted lately that it's really nice having an extra hand on the weekends. Logically I know that I shouldn't be mad at him. He's on call this weekend and whenever we make plans on weekends he's on call, there is a chance our plans could change at the last minute. I'm just so sad and disappointed )-: Now that I typed it out it sounds so dumb, but that's how I feel. Why does being pregnant turn me into a crazy person?

I know exactly how you feel. I have a almost 1 year old and a 2.5 year old. My husband loves getting overtime hours in and has an on call schedule, where two weeks for every 5 weeks we can't make any plans. And even with the on call schedule his job doesn't have set hours. So he can end up working late or on the weekends anytime. I hate when he works late, especially when he volunteers to go to extra jobs. I don't think they realize how exhausting toddlers can be and then on top of that being pregnant. I've learned anytime we make plans on the weekends, whether hes scheduled to be on call or not, I have him request the time off so no one even asks if he can come in. Sorry your plans changed. Hopefully you'll have time and energy to do something else fun.

My husband travels 6 days a week so I rarely get family time. And we have a 2 year old and NO family in a 5 state radius. Consider anytime together as precious instead of a fault. You will be happier that way. When I focus on the negative it just makes me an angry person. I'm guilty of that.

Of wow, that's so tough!! I feel so much better about it now. I am embarrassed about my toddler-like tantrum? These hormones are no joke! It's not like we can't use the extra money. I know I should be thankful that Dh had a job where he can makes good overtime pay
