My scar is the same way ? it is raised and with one of my swimsuits you can see it through it. Makes me self conscious. My ob said when I have my next child he will try to fix it.

I did pelvic floor therapy and during it they also did scar treatment. It looks and feels so much better. Ask your doctor for a referral to a pelvic floor therapist. They do a lot of c-section scar work

Yep plastic. I had mine the same way from my first section. I moved to a new ob for my last two births and she removed some of the tissue with each section so the scar doesn't look so raised. She will being it again with this one.

If you're looking to have it surgically removed... then yes, a plastic surgeon is who you will need to see,

I didn't even think of the plastic surgeon. Thank y'all for that. I just figured dermatologist dealt with scars too. Should I go to the plastic first then?

Pp I don't think it's a full keloid but more like hypertrophic.

Yep, plastics.

Like PP said, you may be prone to keloids but a plastic surgeon is a better person to consult with then a dermatologist. Also, make sure they're board certified!

Is your scar keloid? If you still plan on having more children and are not sure what your chances for a VBAC are, I would wait. I'm 2.5 years post c-section and my scar is barely noticeable. I am prone to keloid as I have other surgery scars that, have keloid and I was surprised to see how nicely my c-section healed and the scar has faded.

I do agree with other PP's though if you are determined to have it gone. I think your best bet may be a plastic surgeon but it's worth asking your dermatologist about.

Honestly, a plastic surgeon is more the way to go.

They can cut the scarred tissue out and stitch you back up. You'd still have a scar but not much raised. I don't even notice mine anymore. Its flat though so I get why you don't like yours

I'd go and talk to a dermatologist. It's been a while and if it's still bothering you I'm sure they can help some way.
