Bruises

Does anyone else feel bad going out in public when their kid has a bruise or cut specifically on their face? My son fell and has a little spot by his eye and has a bite I think on his cheek.

My 4 year old is the embodiment of clumsiness.... she once smacked herself in the head with a doorknob..... twice..... it was the same door...the bathroom door...once going in and once going out. So she had 2 fairly large bruises on her face...one on each side... looked like she went a round in the ring with Rocky... and it doesn't help that she's super pail amd anemic so she bruises super easy and then it takes weeks for even the smallest of bruises to heal... the looks we received out in public.....I mean if looks could kill I'd be a dead cat man.

My sons new thing is purposely falling. He decided to fall onto a toy and got a bruise on his cheek. Then today in the car he scratched below his eye with something and now it looks like he's been in a brawl...although it was with himself. Hahahha. I don't care what people think. People are so judgement nowadays.

When my eldest was just over a year old I was in work and my SIL was looking after him. He fell and smacked his head off the fireplace and his face on the floor. He got paper stitches in his forehead but was fine. To cheer him up, myself, my mother and my sis brought him to the shops to see the Christmas decorations and I swear I could actually see his two eyes turning black. I was mortified and couldn't get out quick enough. A little cut was one thing, a cut and two black eyes? No way, I was housebound with him for a week or two lol

Depends on the scratch/bruise... My daughter gave herself a black eye and I felt bad about that and was worried someone would think something bad.

Same down lol I think that's why I worry too. It looks like I get beat up. I currently have three baseball sized bruises on my legs and like 20 small ones all over. I don't even know where I get most of them. I worry someone will think something is happening because they are pretty bad.

Nah I don't judge because kids will be kids. People should know that things happen. But I do have an issue with MY bruises. When I get blood drawn I bruise badly and I feel like people will think I'm on drugs when they see my arms ?

I did at first until I realized it happens to all kids. Sometimes I don't even know where my lo gets his bruises from but I know it's not me or his dad. Just a rough boy who plays hard!

A little! But I was very accident prone as a child. I literally had bruises all the time. And so does my son. He's always running and falling. Or running into a wall. It's normal! :)

I did when dd broke her leg? I felt I had to explain to everyone what happened.

I felt this way two weeks ago. My son gave himself a massive hickey on his arm ?

We thought he got pinched by a toy until he proceeded to show us what he did. I definitely was like man people are gonna think we abuse him but HE GAVE HIMSELF A HICKEY. thankfully he hasn't done it since.

Small bumps and bruises don't phase me when going out in public. But this thing was insane.

Yea when I see kids that are hurt I don't think they are abused I just think they are clumsy but I still worry someone will think the worst.

I had to go to a daycare today for a school project and I was just worrying so bad someone would think something. To make it worse I was saying I wouldn't be able to stay there for too long doing my project because I can't leave my son for long anyway. I hope she didn't take it as I was going to leave him alone which I am not I just meant he eats and I can't really miss a feeding.

My toddler is very clumsy and is always falling and getting hurt. Honestly if I worried about bumps and bruises we would never leave the house. Kids fall and get bumps it's part of being a kid

I have before. Especially because DD just started going to daycare and has a lot more bumps and bruises now. She is 4 so she can speak to ppl. Not too long ago she fell off of something there and got a big rug burn near her eye. Well that same day Dh went on put her in the carseat and accidentally hit her face on the outside of the car.....(he told me all about this before I got home) well when I saw her I asked her what happened and her first response was "daddy hit me with the door" and I'm like CHILD NOOOOOO!! lol I ment what happened at daycare!!! ? then she told me she fell off a table on the floor and I was like omg she's gonna get us in trouble

I feel bad but then people take pity on my toddler and give him stuff ?

He got to do a game for free at the fair and got a decent prize even though he did win. I'm assuming its cause he had a pretty killer black / swollen eye.

I never did but then step son got abused when he was living with his bio mom and we all had to take parenting classes and a lot of other classes to see who was Fit parent. But I heard crazy stories about how easy it is to get ur kids taken away so I was like omg. Because some of those cases where BS

I don't worry if people think I'm hurting my son.

When I see a child with marks on their face I do not automatically think "omg his parents are abusing him". I think "aw poor thing, must have been a nasty fall".

Nope. And I don't assume the worst when I see other kids with bruises or scrapes either. Things happen.

My 4 year old fell over yesterday and now has a fat lip and grazes on his nose and forehead. It happens. We're going out tomorrow.

Not at all. Toddlers are clumsy, shat happens. I know I'm a good mom, everyone that matters to me knows I'm a good mom so that's all that matters. Judge away, strangers. ?

No don't feel bad, unless it was my fault. Once poked her in the head with a nursery rhyme book.

Most kids will have bumps & bruises.

Anyone who has kids knows how clumsy they can be. Ds is 11 months and has bruises on his legs from falling.

My mum does. I always tell her "don't worry, Jaxon is a toddler. Toddlers get bumps and bruises all the time".
