Loll.. I hated wine, at first. I've just come to the realization, that I really dislike 98% of RED wines. I prefer the sweeter wines, like Moscato, Riesling, Asti, Pino Gris... some Chardonnays. Also, Sangria can be delicious!
You just have to taste test a bunch to find out what you like. Same with craft beers..some are awful, to me, and some I really like.
@chelz I love the Stella red. And black... And pink lol I could chug a bottle or 2 as well hahaha
I would suggest going to a winery. There is a winery near me that's called antler ridge. They give you a shot glass and you can try every single wine they have before buying. Start with sweet wines and go deeper if you'd like. I love sweet white wines.
I love white wine. Chardonnay or pinot grigio. I always get a box wine because I can come and go as I please when I want a glass.
You might like moscato wines. It's sweet n doesn't have the bitter taste if you don't like dry wines.
I love drugs tho. Sweet gives me headaches
A good safe beginner wine brand is Stella Rosa. All their wines are really good. Its a gateway wine. I could chug a bottle.
Start off with White Zinfandel. It's the gateway wine. It's pink and sweet and not bitter at all.
If I don't like the bottle of wine, I still drink it. My SO is like a human vacuum so if I simply cannot do it, he'll end up drinking it all lol
I love my wine but I'm probably of no help to you. I like it dark and bitter much like my soul. ??

So many different wines lol
What do y'all do with the whole bottle if you don't like it? Do you just use it to cook or just drink it anyway?
I tried wine for the first time the other day. It was disgusting. It tasted like nail polish remover ?
I only but cheap wine. Barefoot moscato, it's a dessert wine. I don't like "real" wine, lol!
This is one of my favorite sweeter wines: https://www.ste-michelle.com/shop/wines/2014-harvest-select-sweet-riesling
It really is about trial and error! Do you have any stores near you that offer free wine tastings? You could try a few and they can make recommendations based on how you like the ones they offer.
Wine is an acquired taste. Most people start out on sweet wines then move onto deeper wines. Maybe try a late harvest Riesling(Hogue is a good one).
Or a German Riesling. Then move into drier whites. Followed by lighter reds(zinfandel, Shiraz, Pinot noirs). Red blends as well. Once acquired & enjoying those, move into merlots, cabernets, etc. It takes time to build your profile up. It doesn't have to be expensive to be a good wine. Look for smaller, more independent labels. I've always had better luck with them over a big brand.
Why you do this to me ?? Now I want some yummy white wine but can't have any ? its my fav. Ironically I always liked the cheaper bottles they taste better for me.
Following!! I want to try wine for the first time last time I went to the store i was standing in front of the wine isle looking clueless as fack so I just left lol going to look for some of the ones you ladies are mentioning
Try Lambrusco or moscato. I have 2 cut Moscato sweetness with sprite or sida water but it started me on my love for wine. I also chill all wine unless im @ a fancy restaurant
I suggest trying an apple wine. A local farm makes a Macintosh Apple wine and another makes one called applejack. They are delicious.
I feel like cheap wine is better tasting than more expensive wines. My favorite wine is $8.99.
There are soooo many different flavors with wone, you just need to find what you like....red, white, sweet, dry, etc...I used to be more of a fan of sweet wines, but now I prefer dry whites and sometimes red, depending on my mood. I would just try a few varieties to see what you like better.
Apothic Red and Cocobon are red blends and my new favorites. A mixture of bitter and sweet. They are pretty popular, so most grocery stores carry them. They are fairly cheap too.
I didn't like wine until I tried moscato. Then after drinking that it awhile my taste buds were willing to explore from sweet to semi sweet and even some dry reds! I think you just have to warm up to it and moscato is definitely the way to start
For me the more bitter the better. I can't stand sweet wines. I like a big bold earthy Cabernets.
I drink Manischewitz concord grape, the gallon bottle in a paper bag ? go hard or go home.
I love white moscato. Surprisingly I enjoy the cheap $5 bottles more than the expensive stuff. I have a glass almost every night while I clean up after both kids go to bed. ??

Pp that's what I did ? it was like half off and figured why not try it.
It's Sauvignon blanc I think. And then I have ménage a trois silk.
I'll definitely try them if I can find them pp's.
How do I enjoy it?
Frequently, that's how.
But no seriously our taste buds change over the course of our lives. The younger you are the less you can stand bitter tastes. The older you get the more you grow to enjoy that flavor profile.
Well, what kind did you get? Even cheap sweet wines are okay in my book. I love Rieslings and Pinot grigios. I don't care about brand. Whatever is on sale is what I buy. ??
This is what you need in your life
