I feel like the worst mom ever

I feel like the worst mom ever

So it's is 230 and I wake up to my son screaming. We co sleep and I KNOW he was in between my husband and I. He was in the middle of the bed when I went to sleep. I KNOW that I fed him off my left side. I don't sleep walk. I didn't get up. My husband didn't get up. Yet somehow my son fell off the bed onto the floor. ? it's maybe two feet high and carpet but I feel so bad. He isn't old enough to crawl over me or crawl at all. He barely can roll from his back to belly sometimes. I have absolutely no clue how he got over there much less rolled off a king sized bed when there is room. ?? I calmed him down and fed him back to sleep but I don't think I'm gonna be sleeping tonight again. Please tell me I'm not the only one who's child has fell off a bed?

My daughter rolled off the bed at four months old! She was totally fine lol. I freaked out but hey, accidents happen and she was okay

Noones perfect. I was really feeling low about myself after that. The lady at the business I ran into told me not to feel bad and that it happens to everyone. And then She told me how they had accidently locked a kid in the building with no way of getting him out except through the roof. ?? that made me feel better.

@gensing. I have already accidentally locked my son in the car too! ? felt terrible that day too. I had to run half a mile just to call someone. Thankfully it wasn't too hot though. I'm definitely not a perfect mother.

My son has fallen off the bed twice. Cried for a little bit, but perfectly fine.

To make you feel better, I accidently locked my son in the car during a hot day. I felt so bad and had to go into the business nearby and ask for help. I actually asked for something big so I could break the window, but then some guy came out with a screwdriver and was able to find a way in. I was so disappointed in myself. ?

You're not the first nor the last! I know the feeling. My sweet girl fell off the bed when she was about 6 months. We don't have carpet so she fell straight into the tile floor. I felt like the biggest piece of s*** ! She's fallen twice after that. But the 2 other times she fell off in our new house, which has carpets so the fall wasn't as hard.

My daughter when she was a baby wasn't just quite able to roll herself over and I had slept on the hide a bed in the living room. I left her on the bed after changing her so I could go to the bathroom and before I l ew it I watched her roll off it onto the carpet. I felt terrible. I couldn't believe what I just watched her do.

Then I was watching my cousin when she was just barely moving around when I was a young teen and made sure to barricade around her so she wouldn't fall off. I turned my back literally a second or 2 and she was on the floor. I was horrified since my aunt is an extremely over dramatic person (Ik there's no such thing as such thing for babies but for her reactions to everything else scares me) so I almost pooped myself cuz I was so scared when I heard her running to the bedroom. Of course I felt bad that it happened.

It's not like he keeps falling off the bed. It was once and the first time. We were in a hotel too so not even our normal bed. My son doesn't sleep anywhere but with us like pp said. I do have a pack and play and a crib but my son doesn't sleep in them and on the very rare moment he does its for maybe thirty minutes. I know I'm not the perfect mother.

My dd fell off my bed last week onto out wood floor. I was so upset and worried. If u look at my old posts it isn't far back at all. Her bump on her head is already gone. I know how scary it is though! Just try to not keep thinking about it.

Eta- really pp? It was clearly not on purpose & I'm sure she has those things. Some people prefer to bed share, or their child won't sleep anywhere but with mom / dad. ??for being such a perfect parent.

Maybe you should purchase a pack in play or crib. Falling off a bed can't be good for an infants brain, and I'd be worried about repeat blows the the head. If you can't purchase those items you should put your bed on the floor.

Yep,, both of mine has fallen off the bed. There's an old wives tale about babies that don't fall off the bed before a year old will be sickly. So don't beat yourself up momma a lot of babies fall off the bed (or couch ).

You could of flipped him to the other side in your sleep.

I wake up to my LO in bed and have no recollection of putting her there.

She fell off the other day. I had put her on my left side to feed, she stayed up and I dozed off she moves a lot and kicked off me and dove for the floor. Her kick woke me and I caught her right before she made a hard impact.

It happens. And it will happen again. Don't beat yourself up

My oldest crawled over me and off the bed at 8 months. I felt horrible. ? My youngest hasn't done this yet, but I have all this padding down there now just in case lol.

Yeah, you probably just moved him in your sleep... I remember a couple of times I fell asleep with my daughter next to me and when I woke up she was in my arms... But my daughter has also fell off the bed before. It happens to a lot of parents. (Even if they're too ashamed to say.)

Nope, we went on vacation once and our hotel room only had a full sized bed. I put Olivia in between dh and I but I guess I thought the bed was bigger and in my sleep switched boob sides. The problem with that was, were I "layed" my baby on the bed. Was no bed. So basically I accidentally dropped her off the bed. I could not stop crying. Thank goodness she was okay.

Stayed at a hotel a few days ago, dh put a pillow behind her so that if she would fall the pillow would fall first and catch the fall. She fell and landed directly on the pillow and just laughted haha

Don't feel too bad, there's an old wives tale that says it's good luck if they fall off the bed before they turn a year. Ds fell halfway off at 9 months and I caught him, but at 11 months I straight up knocked him off the bed. He THUMPED on the floor - I was hysterical, dh was upset, and ds? Not fazed one bit.

They don't call them bouncing babies for nothing. Chin up, mama. You're in good company.

and when I was little, I fell off of my mom's bed and slammed my body on the nightstand next to the bed. I didn't even wake up, my mom found me on the ground with a huge bruise on me ??

I fed my son on the left side while I was on the outside of the bed. I fell asleep while feeding him and he ended up falling off the bed. Our bed is really high too but he cried for a little then was awake for the rest of the day, it was like 4 in the morning ? lol my son has fallen so much he's not even affected by it lol. He will face plant while crawling. He'll be 1 in a week

When my daughter was around 6 weeks old she slept in the crook of my arm. While asleep I picked her up and put her in the bassinet next to our bed. (I guess, I don't remember doing it but she obviously didn't walk there). I woke up frantically looking for her just to find her in her bassinet. As sleep deprived as we get we can do some weird stuff in our sleep.

My daughter is 2 and has fallen about 3 feet off my bed maybe once or twice. It didn't hurt her but I think they cry just because it shocked them. When she was younger and not mobile, she would sometimes sleep in her swing, we woke up in the middle of the night to her crying, she had somehow fallen out of the swing even though she was buckled in.

It happens, just not often :)

I've removed the base of my bed and I sleep on a mattress cause all my kids kept coming to sleep with me in the middle of the night so I got scared that one of them would fall and hurt themselves. Been like this for 5 years. Btw I have 6 kids 7 on the way

Yes! My nephew was about 8 months when we went on vacation. He would only sleep next to one of us. I put him next to the wall and went to sleep on the outside. He managed to roll off the bed onto hardwood floor, about 3 feet up.

I panicked! We rushed him to a local ER just for the doctors to tell us he was perfectly fine and next time just add extra pillows around the edge of the bed.

When my son was 8 months old he crawled over me and just as I opened my eyes and realized what was happening he went off of the bed and landed on his belly. It knocked the air out of him and he screamed for a good minute or so. It scared him more than it hurt him. But I felt so awful. I cried and called my great aunt (she's basically my mom). She laughed at me and said that he was a tough little guy and would be okay. Made me feel better. Now I sleep with pillows all around the edge of my bed. He's so sneaky and quiet when he wakes that I sometimes don't hear him.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Got home around 11... washed lil man up and made him a bottle... asked my husband to get off his phone and help me put him to sleep... as soon as I did, my husband sat on the couch and fell right to sleep with Zach in his arms... I walked over to him and picked Zach up and he has to nerve to jump awake talking about I scared him because he thought he dropped Zach... this is why I’ve stopped asking him to hold him... he is irresponsible... I ended up setting up Zach’s stand up floor lamp, rearranging his room, making him a late night/early morning bottle, rocking him to sleep in his car seat and then moving him to his room all while my husband was knocked out in the living room.... I swear I feel like a single mother

I'm the worst parent ever.

I'm the worst parent ever. My son fell off the bed. He just started crawling and slid right off the bed and rolled under it. It was the worst thing in the world to witness and I feel like the worst mom ever hearing him fall.
