Can they really do that?
Can they really do that?
So this video popped up on my feed and honestly made me cry. Can they seriously send you to jail though? I know at the school in my town they still do swats. However you can choose detention or suspension as well. It was never a "you have to be swatted or else". I was suspended twice and my grandma was never arrested. So idk if it varies between schools and states. Sorry if this had been posted before.

I would be going to jail. There is no way in hell i would allow someone to do that to my child. Regardless of threatening jail.
deleted-user·
Yea there is just no way I could sit by while this is going on. There's just no way what they were doing is ok. I'm trying not to judge the mom but it's really hard.

Horribly upsetting video. Literally turned my stomach & made my heart race. I'm glad the mom taped what those Devils did BUT, how the hell did she manage to stay calm!???? I would've caught a murder charge. Hopefully she has enough sense to hire an attorney ASAP. My heart aches for that poor little boy. He clearly needs guidance & love. That experience will forever traumatize him!!

Isn't this considered child abuse? How is this legal? Here in Australia in schools they have 0 tolerance to bullying. How is this any different to what the kid did? He hit somebody and they hit him. It's disgusting. This is bullying. I believe the parents should be the people to hit their own kid. And if they choose to they use their hand never a weapon. This video makes me so upset and angry. This should not be allowed.
deleted-user·
What is even more sick is the people who are defending the school.
deleted-user·
@baby in the comments of her video on Facebook, she states she had a doctor's note for every absence. Neither of them should be punished because he had medical issues and missed school.
deleted-user·
They could try to touch my kid ?????
deleted-user·
Uh not in my state.
1. There is no truancy police here. If your child is truant they get in school detention. Suspension doesn't not negate truant. Nor can they arrest you for it.
2. I'd be going to jail. Because that person would get a paddle to the face for every strike on my child. And I'd pull my student for homeschooling.
3. Id never let anyone spank my child. Id sue for it... Hmmm maybe that's why it's not done in my state.
4. I would never expect my child to forgive me, nor trust me if I willingly let some old rule b**** beat them. Id expect more acting out.
f*** this barbarism.

This breaks my heart. That poor baby he may never have full trust in his mother again after this and that hurts my heart. I feel for the mother she was pushed into a corner and threatened and some people just aren't strong enough! But that little boy will never ever forget that he was crying for help and his mum didn't help him I would never forgive myself. As a mother if someone attempted to do this to my child...well I wouldn't even let them get their hands on him let alone paddle him. surely truancy is unauthorised absence and if its suspension well the school has chosen to allow the absence and therefore there is no case. I would go to f*** ing town on those b**** es I swear. It's absolutely heart breaking.

All I know if I someone held my child down and even lifted a finger to him I'd kill them. Nope. You're out of your damn mind if you think you will punish my child. Wtf this makes me so angry and I don't even have kids.
deleted-user·
I couldn't finish watching. Let them arrest me but I would not allow my son to get hit with that paddle. Made me very sad.
deleted-user·
I did not watch the video. But if the mom knew that some type of dicipline was expected , the mom should have been on top of the doctors notes. And also, the mother should have been punished not the child. I work for an elementary school and I do attendance. Parents get warnings. ..lots of them before the school takes action. And the majority of the time the parents ignore them and the child pays for it. It's sad.
deleted-user·
Well it is georgia and this is a barbaric state. Corporal punishment is legal here in school and it makes me sick. But it doesnt really suprise me since it's also legal to marry your first cousin. Bunch of imbred losers here. Wish my husband wouldnt have been relocated here. Now i have to consider homeschooling my kids cause i would have sent both those batches to the morgue for touching my child.
deleted-user·
Nope I don't care what they threaten me with nobody will put a hand on my child and especially not a paddle! Him crying for her breaks my heart. She should've picked up her son and left.
deleted-user·
I would've beaten the hell out of those woman. I know that does nothing but NO ONE is going to put their hands on my child. This mother needs to hire an attorney because it's bull how she has doctors notes for her son but yet the school is saying she doesn't. I'd be taking my child and putting them into another school.
deleted-user·
Omg I couldn't watch this beyond when the child started crying. I had no idea this was still legal in some parts of the US. I could never let somebody hit my child and I don't see how not allowing it could possibly be against the law.
deleted-user·
I just don't understand how she was in legal trouble for taking care of her child ?. Did the boy have a doctors note for the days he missed?? If so, the mother should not be in trouble for that!! Even if he didn't have a doctors note for every day that he missed, I don't see how the school has the right to threaten her, give her an ultimatum and physically punish her son . I pictured my son in this position and it made my blood boil!
deleted-user·
Mrs. Q he had been absent 18 days for medical reasons that were supposed to be excused, due to doctors notes. They called the police and she was arrested and out on bond. Had her son missed a day her bond would be revoked.

This tore my heart to pieces. I can't believe that is even legal to do in school!! I also find it hard to believe that the mother would be arrested for the child being suspended for one day. That just doesn't sound right or legal to me. That poor boy ?. When one of the teachers started to giggle I totally lost it. This is just so wrong! I would have picked up my baby and walked right out of there!! No one, I don't care who it is, is going to threaten or physically harm my children!! My children would not be going back to that school. If all of the schools were like that, I would homeschool. No child should ever be put in a situation where they are afraid to go to school, physically harmed at school, humiliated at school or anything along those lines. I'm pretty surprised that the mother didn't step in. If my child was crying for me to help him, you better believe I would have acted immediately!!! If all of his absences were due to medical reasons, she shouldn't have had anything to worry about!! Nothing about this video is acceptable and I am in shock that there are schools that find this sort of punishment to be acceptable, beneficial, legal and /or educational. This truly baffled me. I just can't with this.
deleted-user·
No. This makes me so mad. That poor child.
deleted-user·
@Bobbi the child learns something alright, he learns he should be afraid of school.
deleted-user·
This is disgusting and the child learns nothing...
deleted-user·
Pp according to the mother she signed a paper saying she didn't give consent to the paddling. But the school claims that they did have consent. Here is an article in case people don't want to watch the video!

Its been a few years since I was in school but I thought at the beginning of the year they would send home paperwork for paddlings. You could either say yes or no to your kid getting one.
Either way that is messed up. I would of took my kid home and fought them in court if it came to that.
deleted-user·
Yeah I read that also. But she also said that those absences should have been excused because they had a doctors note for each. In which case I wouldn't have been scared because it's the schools fault for not excusing the absences. So no, they would not have paddled my child and I would not have stood back while my child was screaming help me mama. And I understand her predicament, but I also feel she could have been a bit more assertive. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to blame the mother and I do feel really bad for her, that school system seems to be really fcuked up. I hope the principal and the other woman get in serious trouble over this.
deleted-user·
@fetch the mom was told if she stopped the spanking they would call the police for violating her probation. She had been arrested previously for truancy on her son, because he had medical issues and lots of doctors appointments, from what I've read. It makes me sick. And the old b**** was laughing? I'd have gone to jail, but for assault. No one is going to spank my child but me. She even signed a form at the beginning of the year stating they did not have permission to spank him.
Edit: Never mind, you beat me to it. Lol.
deleted-user·
This is disgusting
The mother is dumb idc if my sons school would try and threaten me with jail. I would threaten them back with a law suit NO ONE can lay a hand on my child I don't care what they think is right
This school is disgusting so are these teachers
Poor baby
I only watched a few seconds I couldn't watch more
deleted-user·
I have shared this on my FB timeline. I wanted to so bad reach through my phone and slap the s*** out of those teachers. There is no way that I will allow them to paddle my son's ass for any reason whatsoever. So wrong on so many levels.
deleted-user·
Like I'm sorry I can't even with this video. I just looked up news articles regarding it and it says the mother signed a paper at the beginning of the school year stating her child could not be paddled under any circumstances. That's why they were so concerned about the mother video recording and she told them she was texting. He spit on a kid and hit another one that day. But Idgaf, that's my child to disapline. He was in kindergarten ffs.
deleted-user·
I couldn't even finish watching. I have goosebumps from being so disgusted with that video. There is no way ANYTHING would stand in my way from STOPPING that. How is this still legal!?
I don't care what that child did no one deserves physical punishment - ever.
My heart hurts for that child and mom ?
deleted-user·
I don't know but this video disgusts me. Like seriously angers me. The kid is saying help me mama help me. I would absolutely never sit in a room while my child is crying like that begging for me to help him and stand by and let someone else whoop him. I would be livid. Thank god I don't live in a state where corporal punishment is allowed in schools.
