And lala, it's not pseudoscience. Fats keep you fuller longer. It's not going to get you all the way to lunch but it might help cutdown on midmorning over snacking.

Yup it's called bulletproof coffee. That or coconut oil or both. So good! I blend it up in my nutribullet. Coffee, creamer, butter/CO about a tablespoon, sweetener and sometimes some cinnamon or vanilla extract or pumpkin pie spice. Yumm

Yep, butter coffee is a thing. Also known as Bulletproof.

You blend the coffee with good quality unsalted butter.

Unsalted KerryGold Irish butter is the way to go.

Add your usual sweeteners, cream, etc.

Supposed to help improve mental clarity and help curb hunger. Also aids in weight loss.

Basically it's paleo.

When you use good quality butter it's actually pretty darn delicious.

Like, people actually do this?

I put butter and vanilla Cramer in it and it's good because the bitter will sit at the top and it's sweet from the creamer and it's actually really good but I don't do it often because most of the time I don't have time for all that

I've tried coconut oil but no butter. That sounds gross ?

I'm also not a fan of the coconut oil in coffee.

I do

Butter and coconut oil actually. It's only good if you blend it in. But man.. I love it! I also blend in milk or creamer.

Just like butter in oatmeal ?

I didn't know that was a thing until one time working at McDonald's this lady gave me an attitude for not putting butter in her bag with the oatmeal. I don't think I disguised my disgusted look so well because she was pissed? but I don't put butter on anything I eat

@jenvail: yeah like I said, it works well if you are doing it combined with a very good diet lie you said your mother does. A lot of people are doing this thinking that this is all they have to do and they will lose weight, but they keep eating the same, and that is not the case.

I work at Starbucks and have a customer who puts 6 packs of butter in his double espresso. I think it's absolutely disgusting haha

@raven. My mom lost 17lbs in a month with this kind of coffee. She eats well too... But it avoids the high/lows and keeps you full for a long time. My sister is also very thin.

Bulletproof coffee my old coworker would have it blended with coconut oil and milk and sugar. She actually lost weight ?

I mean I've had butter tea when in Tibet, but I think the point (if your looking at it from an anthropological level) of it there was to increase the amount of calories the people living in such a harsh terrain got in a day.

Westerners, especially Americans, do not need extra fat or calories. There are a vast array of healthier options out there to make yourself feel fuller longer. Oh and coconut oil is a massive caloric bomb (121 cal per tablespoon) that both raises your good and bad cholesterol equally, so don't go overboard on using it. It can help you lose weight but only combined with a very portion-controlled, low fat, daily exercise regime.

And like pp said adding coconut oil as well increases the benefits of staying full all day as well as helping burn fat.

Yes it's an actual thing. Apparently you put butter instead of cream and sugar. It helps give you more energy without the crash and can help calm cravings, but you're supposed to use unsalted grass fed butter.
