Completely random question.
Can you be allergic to fruits and vegetables?
Lettuce allergies exist but are rare. If you think you're allergic either avoid it to avoid discomfort or got to see an allergist to get tested for confirmation (and then avoid lettuce still). My husband's nose getting extremely itchy when his plate even has lettuce garnish; sure enough an allergist confirmed his allergy.
I get fruit/vege allergies that come and go i couldn't eat anything red for tears. Tomatoes/strawberrys, red peppers ect. Im fine with them now but oranges and citric fruit now. Allergies can change my doctor tells me just to try each fruit again each season. I usually get a rash sore tummy and head straight to the toilet :(
Absolutely. Very seriously as well. I'm allergic to bananas, melons, grapes, and some leafy greens like dandelion and nettles. Both systemic and mild anaphylactic symptoms.
If I've recently had a reaction or it is a very high allergy season I have mild systemic reactions to carrots and onions.
Ahhh ok so it's possible for fruits. So what about vegetables like lettuce though lol
Yes I am allergic/intolerant to fruit (mainly bananas and kiwi)and tomatoes and avocados. Apparently its called Oral Allergy Syndrome and we get tingling, redness, itching and burning when we eat raw fruit. I still eat them n just down water after to stop the itching coz I love fruit.
Yep! I'm allergic to apples, carrots, bananas, yellow squash, celery, blueberries, mangos, and soy. Most just make my mouth/throat/ears itchy, but mangos and yellow squash make my throat swell up and I break out in hives.
