Pushing confusion

So obviously I'm a first time mom because I'm asking this. I'm a little confused on how long you push to deliver the baby. Ive heard stories where some say they pushed for hours but then some say they pushed three times and they were out. I'm just confused as if they mean from the cervix all the way out in three pushes or just once they were crowning it took three pushes. I understand every labor is different I'm just kinda confused lol.

I pushed for two hours with my first I should of been cut but they kept leaving me until I tore pretty badly .

The pushing stage is kind of pain free or at least you don't notice it as much as your doing something xx

Good luck I'm sure you will be a great pusher ?

It all depends. My friend pushed 3 times and the baby was out. With me, it took 4 hours to get the little girl out. I'm smaller built so it took awhile to get her head past the pelvic bone (I believe that's what it is? I don't remember).

Once I was fully dilated , it took 10 mins to push my son out , you can only push with contractions so I can't really remember how many it took I think about two contractions..it seemed quick,..sometimes takes longer baby can get stuck or if it's a big baby.. i've also heard with epidurals it can be harder because you can't feel when/where to push...I'm very petite and had an 8lb baby , I think being up right during labour and transition made the pushing part easier.

I pushed for 30 mins.

1st time mom.labored 4days.

The nurses made me delay pushing for two hours after I was at 10cm to bring the baby down as far as possible so I wouldn't have to push long.

Your body takes over and contractions cause you to push even if you're not trying to push, but they don't tell you to start pushing until you're fully dilated because usually your Dr isn't standing there just waiting around. Your labor may last for 24 hours but you may only push for 5 minutes...

It depends. There's no right or wrong answer.

Personally I just pushed when I felt I need to.

I remember saying "She's cling down" and I had this IRRESISTIBLE urge to push that I couldn't stop.

So I did.

In about 2 pushes she was crowing but they thought her heart rate was dropping and she wasn't coming out as fast as they liked so I had an episiotomy and forceps to get her head and shoulders out. ?

Everyone is different like other people said. I felt no urge to push after being in labor for 8 hours but apparently I was fully dilated and pushed him down and out. I pushed for about an hour

The 1 usually takes the longest. I pushed for 20 min with my first (7lb,6oz), but with my second I pushed twice (8 lb, 4oz). My labour and delivery was only 3 hrs. I was at a 6 when my water broke and my contractions started.

Every body is different

Everyone and everytime is different. I am very tiny ( 103 lbs on delivery day and 109 lbs consecutively ) my first unpushed for about 45 min by second 4 pushes and she was out : ) so it all depends girlfriend.

Unique to each mommy. I pushed for an hour after baby was crowning. This was due to the fact my perineum wasn't fully stretched or able to accommodate to the size it needed to so I had to make my hole a little bigger with a third degree tear :| hurt like a sob

I pushed for 2 hours with my first. It wasn't the most fun I ever had. I had an active pregnancy but was put on my back for stage 2 so they could monitor the contractions. Big mistake in hindsight by a very inexperienced midwife. With baby No 2 I didn't even push, I was upright walking around and she came out so easily. Let gravity help you and don't go near a bed once you are fully dilated. Good luck xx

It all depends on you and when the nurse tells you to start pushing. I was fully dilated but my daughter wasn't crowning yet so the nurse asked me to push a few times. After 5 minutes my daughter started to crown and 15 minutes later she was out.

I had an epidural and was pretty numb in the hospital. I was 7cm when I went in, so I was just waiting it out. I felt a ton of pressure a few hrs later and asked the nurse to check my progress. Baby was crowning. They called the dr in, prepped the area, told hubby to grab a leg and for me to get ready. 3 big pushes later daughter arrived.

You don't push until baby is ready. But based on the position it can take awhile. And a c section is still a possibility

I only pushed for 13 minutes and I had a 9lb 5oz baby. It really depends on you and your body.

I didn't start pushing until my son was crowning (in fact, I had to wait for my doctor for about 20 minutes after I felt him crowning and was totally ready to push). I pushed during 2 contractions for maybe 5 minutes and he was out. He was pretty small though at 6 lb 3 oz.

That all depends on you and only you. I did a lot of walking during my first pregnancy so I only pushed like 3 times, plus baby was only 6lbs. One thing we do as a new parent is listen to what everyone else says. Trust your body

Going off these makeup posts...

Going off these makeup posts... If you were told to completely clear out your makeup bag and were only allowed to keep *3 products* for a more natural/lighter look what would you keep? What are your top three staples? And what are some products you use a lot BUT know it is something you could definitely go without.
