another food question

I'm offering table food tonight. We are having chicken pot pie. I'll omit the chicken for her. But I know babies can't have eggs. So if the crust has egg in it, should I omit that too. And just give her the veggie portion? Or is it different since it's an ingredient?

I think it MAY be different since you are not actually giving her the whole egg. If she has an allergy, it might show though.

I gave dd bites of a squash casserole last weekend(2 eggs in the recipe + cheddar cheese). She LOVED it.

To be on the safe side, ask your family if anyone has or had an egg allergy. I had to do that.

Ok! Thank you so much! No one in our families have egg allergies so I'm sure she'd be fine! But I wanted to check for sure

That article makes me feel better!

My MIL introduced eggs to her kids at about 6 months. My mom waited till 8-9 months.

My doctor does NOT recommend before 1(hey they dont want you blaming them if they do and your LO is allergic) but I was told to make sure there isn't any known family allergy if I decide to.

I may get called a bad mom but I planned to introduce it before 1 anyway. But with caution. Ill start with food that contain it first.

I would say just make sure you have children's benadryl on hand. :)

I'm allergic to peanuts and doc said I have to start giving her a little peanut butter everyday so hopefully she doesn't become allergic as well. Just told me to keep benadryl in the house.

Where would you find benadryl for children? I've looked at target and buy buy baby. Would it be with adult meds?

My doctor said we could use Benadryl as well and on my med dosage sheet it gives the proper amount. We keep childrens Benadryl 12.5mg/5ml on hand. I will post a pic of the dosage chart for you that my doc gave me for Benadryl. Just check with your pedi first to see if he/she gives you the go ahead :)

I found it at target, my target has a child section in it. My doctor said 1/2 tsp of it. Sorry it took so long to get back to you!

Bit of a rant I seriously can't wait to eat something like cereal for breakfast again...lol. With this GD I have been limited to eggs every morning (and I HATE eggs). My high risk OB told me about green smoothies last week so I have had those like 4 times (much better than eggs by far!) but I still wish I could have a bowl of cereal or oatmeal or waffles (omg, I'm making myself so hungry ?). A little over 9 weeks and I will be eating all the foods I miss so much ?
