My maybe is 16 days old. Laat night she had a temp of 99, which we attribute it to the insane heatwave we just got. But when we were being discharged from the hospital, they said never take her temp rectally. Ok. No prob. Well the pediatrician called me this morning to let is know how our newborn screening went, and I asked her about it, and she said oh rectally is the way to take newborn temps. I'm so tired of conflicting information.

My ped wants rectal temps. In the hospital, they taught us how to do so.

The ped office showed me how to properly take one yesterday, thankfully. But no one can give me the straight answer for anything.

I only do it rectally Bc I feel like the others don't give the right number, or they change every time.
