Amanda: that is so awesome!! With those size follicles you could end up with twins lol! Are you excited?

Baby- Dh is taking herbs from our acupuncturist. Fx they're working! If this iui doesn't work I'm going to start him on maca. And we'd probably have to wait a couple months before we'd do another one.

US went well today! Follicles measured at 16, 18, and 25! So tonight is the trigger and iui Wednesday morning! Woo hoo!

Doc jacks: yes... Femera has little to no side effects. First time I took it I overproduced 7 follicles so I am taking it every other day at 2.5 mgs. Side effects I'm experiencing are slight hot flashes like two a day, a headache on the day I take it and that's it. Have not had to use any form of progesterone. Hopefully one of the other beautiful ladies can give you insight on this...

Amanda: is he taking anything to help boost his motility? There are natural supplements that could help give it a boost. I've read stories of women's husbands taking maca root, men conception aid, etc. when the sperm numbers, etc weren't average. this is something you could look into.

It really does suck that fertility treatment cost are so expensive. You're right injectables are way more expensive than oral meds like clomid and femera. You're lucky you're responding to clomid. Some people don't and others like me respond a bit too much.

Hi Ladies. I am having my IUI on Tuesday morning, June 2. BFP for all of us this month.

31.05.2015 Нравится Ответить

Has anyone here taken Letrozole before or progesterone vaginal? If so, how did you respond?

31.05.2015 Нравится Ответить

Baby- if I'm reading this right motility was 30% and they said above 40% is normal at the clinic were going to.

I wish all this was covered by insurance too! Our insurance covers nothing at all for fertility and it sucks. Our iui cost this cycle with u.s. monitoring, insem, and sperm wash was $1150. I'm so thankful I responded well to clomid, which is dirt cheap, and didn't need injectables because they range from $300-$2500 depending on dosage. These costs can just get ridiculous!

Dock: our previous insurance was like that where it only covered diagnostic tests for infertility but not treatment. With our new insurance we're covered for everything that is such a blessing. 1426 seems a bit high. I think without insurance we would have paid 350 for IUI, 290 for office visit or Ultrasound, 100 for ovidrel, 34 for femera and don't know yet cost for sperm washing so for a grand total of 770 this would have been our amount out of pocket. Hopefully in the next year a bill will be passed so all elements for infertility will be covered under the affordable health care act. So many couples could benefit from this. It sucks that not everyone is able to afford treatment costs that in some states are outrageously high.

Dlm: drs!! I'm glad the clomid is working out for. Hopefully you get your bfp sooner than later. Sometimes taking a break from ttc is good to take your mind from it for a while. My husband's the same way. He'd rather stay the course than not take a break.

Calling the RE on first day of period. Getting an US and starting Letrozole (Femara).

Then after finishing Letrozole, a second ultrasound will be done and an HCG injection will be administered if follicles look good (only on the left side of course.)

Within 36 hours, we will get his sample and get the IUI done.

Progesterone vaginal capsules and labs will come after that.

I have about another week until AF should show up and I have been waiting so patiently for this blessing. I've been staying busy with work, spending quality time with DH and doing things I enjoy like, roller skating. ?

My insurance has paid for everything up until now but, they will not pay for the IUI and meds.

$1462 total for first IUI. ??

Right?! Those things don't just go away! The second ultrasound was perfectly normal and it was the same tech... So when I went to my new dr, they did another one and found that everything is perfectly normal! And I was surprised I got to stay on clomid... This new dr 'reset my clomid clock' and we will use it during iui because I respond so well on it. And my uterine lining has been awesome, from what I'm told ? idk wtf uterine lining should be looking like but mine is good. But I think I'm going to do a couple more iui's if no bfp, and take a little break. DH doesn't want to take any breaks and idk if I can actually go through with not ttc, but it is so much toll emotionally on me!

Kristina: sorry to hear about that. Thank you! I hope everything works out for you this cycle!

Amanda: of course you can! Isn't it nice when a second opinion gives you more insight into an supposed unexplained problem?you guys would most certainly benefit from IUI with slightly low motility. Is his motility under 50 or 40%? Some clinics like to see it around theses ranges or higher to be considered normal. Good luck!!

My new RE was more in depth than my first one and explained that we may be subfertile due to husbands abnormally low volume even though everything else with him checks out fine. Because I overproduced on clomid and femera, he thinks I may have an ovulatory dysfunction which isn't necessarily a bad thing because I'm responding but just a little to well. So we'll see what taking the medication every other day does. I find out Thursday on cd 11.

Hello! Can I join you ladies? My first iui will be tomorrow (if my opk is positive this afternoon), or possibly Tuesday or Wednesday. This cycle will be two years ttc, no pregnancies. We thought we were unexplained for almost a year until we had a different specialist review all the test results and it turns out it is probably dh. Just slightly low motility but that's about it. So we definitely have high hopes for this iui!

Docjacks: Wow! You have been on quite a ride with your ttc journey. At least they figured out what was going on and have given you the green light for treatment!! How exciting!! What meds did they put you on? Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Dlmiersch: I don't know how you tolerate clomid. I'm also surprised you have been on it for so long. Most drs don't prescribe it past 6 months wether or not you do TI or IUI because of thinning the lining of the uterus and other side effects. Femera is so much better. Maybe if you want you could switch to something with less side effects.

Isn't it funny when a dr dxs you with something then all of a sudden it vanishes on its own lol. I'm sorry I'm no dr but blocked tubes and a double uterus do not vanish on their own. It sounds like whoever performed your test may have been inexperienced.

I'm not finding much on chromosome issues other than mc's and egg quality either.

My name is Cynthia. 28 years old.

I lost my right tube last year due to ectopic that kept growing after getting Methotrexate. I was heart broken.

Seeing a RE since Feb. after trying on our own again didn't seem to work.

Had an HSG and Sonohysterogram and found out I had lots of adhesions from last years surgery.

My RE cleaned them all out in April and gave me the go ahead to TTC this month.

In June I start my first IUI!!!!

Super stoked and having faith for us and all of you awesome ladies!!!?

Baby4ever, yes we can be cycle buddies! ? I love getting updates, it helps me quit obsessing about my tww's. Ha! My RE is actually a group of RN's who used to be ob nurses, and they are so awesome! I have had two Drs that offered me zero answers because everything seemed to check out. I did have an ultrasound that showed a blocked tube, 'double uterus' and hemorrhagic cysts... Then the next one was completely normal. No clue what happened! So the only guess is that we have a 'transportation' issue, getting the sperm to the egg. DH is a tobacco user (he chews and it's disgusting but I love him despite it!!), And I have a hostile environment. That's the only quasi-answers we have gotten. We are going to try our hand at iui and if it doesn't work for us, we will be moving on for more testing at an actual RE.

This is my 7th or 8th round of clomid. We had timed intercourse on clomid from October to March, took a month off, started iui in April and back in clomid from April to now. Clomid makes me have the worst hot flashes!! And I will randomly start crying when I hear music sometimes, it is SO embarrassing!! DH thinks it's hilarious and he is lucky I have a good sense of humor, too! My cramps are pretty awful and I have such extreme mood swings. But other than that, (ha!) clomid is great!

I didn't find much about chromosomal abnormalities except it's linked to miscarriages and is more common in older women. I'm 26 but I won't discount anything!

30.05.2015 Нравится Ответить

Nothing yet. I haven't tested at home and I'm planning to go on tomorrow morning for bloodwork. No symptoms though

Dlm: nice to meet you! Wow... I thought I was the only one. My RE explained that when sperm and egg meet it stops dividing properly before it reaches the uterus and therefore cannot implant. He explained that this usually occurs in older males/females because the number of chromosomes in the egg/sperm increase and is discovered through IVF! Go figure! Usually with unexplained couples everything looks good under a microscope, ultrasound, hsg, etc. but the fertilization process may be hindered because of higher chromosome. I have been researching this myself and haven't found much. Did you discover anything?

We were told because we had our first child very easily the good old fashioned way our chances were pretty high through IUI. I'm cautiously optimistic about this working.

It sounds like your RE was monitoring you closely whereas my former one was not. How are you doing on the clomid?

I think my IUI will possibly be on the 6th of June or the 7th so we are very close in our cycles! Will you be my new cycle buddy lol?

Rainedrops: any update?

30.05.2015 Нравится Ответить

Hey, I'm also unexplained! Closing in on 2 years ttc this summer. Did the dr elaborate on what is meant by chromosomal issues? I'm going to start googling as soon as I post this ?

It's cd 2 for me. Clomid 50 3-7, hcg trigger, U/s cd 11 (June 8) with iui following on cd 13/14. This is our second iui and third attempt. Last cycle, we also missed ovulation! Opks and bbt didn't pick it up, but it was confirmed via bloodwork and ultrasound. Very mysterious.
