Kay, it’s incredibly frustrating! My doctor wasn’t sure if I should transfer at the end of March bc I was slightly over stimulated and he said it would depend on the PGS. If I had several good embryos he would be comfortable doing the transfer and if only a couple then I should wait. This information doesn’t help much...

An inconclusive can also just mean that they did not have enough genetic material to determine whether or not it was a normal embryo.

I was told by the embryologist that inconclusive is a situation where the few cells they pulled included normal and abnormal cells. So it’s inconclusive because they don’t know if they pulled the one random abnormal cell in your cluster of 100+ in an embryo or if ALL the rest of the cells in the Blast are bad except for the ONE good cell they pulled along with the bad in a matter of speaking.

So I would say you have a 50/50 chance it’s still viable. (Not scientific) The cells they pull for testing are the tropectoderm cells that will eventually make the placenta. These CAN result in an healthy pregnancy as the body can sometimes repair these one off anomalies. So it’s really a matter determining the pros and cons of being more assured the embryo is good/cost of a failed frozen transfer vs the cost and expense of a new IVF cycle if you’re out of viable eggs.

As far as retesting, I know my clinic, Kaiser, will not transfer any “bad” embryos. So I would not retest if I still wanted a choice whether or not I wanted to transfer it anyway.

I had 1 inconclusive. I decided to take my chances and use it for a FET. It resulted in a BFN.

We had an inconclusive and retested. It ended up being abnormal but I don’t think that is always the outcome. Our lab included 9 embryos tested for the one price so it was an easy decision for us to have it rechecked.

I have two that are inconclusive but we are not going to re test them unless we have to. We have 4 normal so we are trying them first.

I haven’t, but am following. We are waiting for CCS results right now. The inconclusive result seems like it would be so frustrating! That means they pulled the wrong type of cells, right?
