-Lots and lots of burp cloths
-Baby carrier/sling
-bouncer or rocker
-pacifier
-Sleep sack, makes it so much easier to change diapers at night than dealing with all of the buttons and trying to get their legs back in. And she is always toasty.
-My lo never really fit into newborn clothes either. I was very happy that I had thought to buy 0-3 mo clothes!
Plenty more, but these are all things I use everyday for lo and would be lost without.

Receiving blankets. You can use them for everything. In place of burp clothes(they are so much bigger!), swaddling them, covering them, to lay down in public for diaper changes

Baby carrier
Nose frida

Rock n play ?? very useful and portable.
Soothe was a life saver at times!
Pj onesies were my preferred choice of clothing.
Gloves for new born
Wish I got a rocking chair ? would have really helped. I'm always uncomfortable nursing on the bed.
Oh and a boppy pillow! ????

Fisher Price Rock n Play
Mamaroo swing
Excessive amounts of burp cloths & socks
Muslin swaddling blankets
Sleep gowns
Zipper sleep outfits because snaps are evil
ETA: A glider or rocking chair. I'm pretty sure I almost rooted myself to my glider for the first four months. And a white noise machine. We have the Cloud B sleep sheep and all three of my girls loved it.

A patient and nurturing mom?

If you plan on nursing make sure you have some nipple cream on hand. I like lanolin. It's a life saver during those first couple weeks.
Also I highly suggest one if those thermometers where you can scan their forehead. My daughter always wiggled so much when I tried taking her temperature rectally and I was terrified I would hurt her. And she screamed if I tried to do it under her arm.
Oh and I love balmex brand diaper rash cream. It worked so much better than any other brand we have tried.
Oh and make sure you stock pile heavy flow pads for yourself. PP bleeding sucks, you'll need a ton.

Wipe warmer

Don't do the wipe warmer. When your out and you have to wipe with a cold wipe it will be the end of the world. Lol

Miracle swaddle blanket.
Some sort of activity gym where it's a mat that baby lays on with things that hang over their head to look at and reach for.

Nose frida
Boppy pillow
Swing
Pack n play
Bum rash cream (coconut oil and a&d ointment worked best for us)
Soft baby wash cloths
These are all must have things to me besides the norm like diapers, wipes, clothes and those sorts of things.
ETA, and baby nail clippers. I always did my boys nails when they were sleeping.
