If you have gov medical a lot of things like what you need are not coverd unless you get prior authorization. All you need to do is request it before leaving the doctors. If it's something you need asap ask for it to be flagged emergency so it only takes 24 hours. If you don't they can take up to 72 hours. I only know because I use to be on gov medical years ago and 90% of my meds needed prior auth. You can even say it's a hardship to pay for the meds. Or you can contact the manufacturer and see if they have a coupon you can use. I have coverd cali now. My doc gave me one for a name brand med where I won't need prior auth for a year and only need to pay $10 a month. Way better then the $600 without insurance. Or with $25 a refill. There's lots of ways to get meds cheaper just gotta do the foot work.

@loveiskey, its getting ridiculous. Couldn't get her vitamin d either, that was another 11$ because they didn't have the brand I called in.

I ended up just paying for it. We just paid 120 for a tooth extraction out of pocket so I wasn't trying to spend too much. At least her shots are covered.

@kelly, my oldest used to get steroid creme for her severe rashes, I had to do that. I was a single mom in hs and they wouldn't let me have cash assistance because I didn't live with my dad

u could ask for a prior authorization or a formulary exception from the dr if its the only thing that works i did this all the time at work and most meds get covered (mn ma)

My wal mart didn’t carry it, so I got it from the pharmacy. Paid about that much. It worked and was worth it.

Yea insurances are taking lots of products out and becoming behind the counter items .

The closest Wal-Mart is a city over and I bus everywhere sadly. It used to be covered too
