"Jesus Saves Sinners "
Oh what a lovely thing to hear while walking about with my little family. It wasn't directed towards me, atleast I don't think, as I was walking a bit behind with our toddler and SO said she looked directly at him. He had our newborn in her carrier on him.
I see why my comment was taken wrong. By "these types of rants" I meant the crazy person, not your rant on BB. LOL sorry my brain isn't all there today.
Calling people sinners on a street corner isn't being a true Christian in my opinion. I'm sorry this happened to you and honestly it gives Christians a bad rap.
Woah woah woah. You misunderstand me. I'm agreeing with you all that it's creepy and weird. I said as a Christian I'm usually put off and sometimes offended.
@newwife and I do not care for people who call me or my family sinners when we're just trying to go for a walk.
I already stated I do not have a problem with religion or people's beliefs. I come from a religious family and so does my SO.
It's disrespectful to me,to call me a sinner when I've done nothing. You can go and preach God's words all you'd like and I won't have an issue with it, but once something is aimed towards me or family that's where I draw the line.
Eta: I may have sinned creating my beautiful daughters, but i don't regret that sin at all.
Preach love if you want, but don't make me feel like you're bashing me for creating beautiful lives.
Things like this are why I'd like a pair of blackout sclera lenses and those bite-open blood packets. I'd turn around and have her thinking she's preaching to the literal Antichrist. Also affective against catcallers.
@newwife Not everyone follows organized religion or believes Jesus is the messiah and so on. This is a public forum and op is free to rant however she chooses. She wasn't disrespectful or saying all religious ppl are like this. She was ranting about one specific person or type of person not personally attacking Christianity.
I'm a Christian and do not care for these types of rants. It's very off putting for me so I can only imagine how someone else would feel about it.
There's a man in my neighborhood (he's an ex gang member) who goes out on the weekend and preaches from the ghetto on a mic about God's love. That I love.
Religion can be beautiful, its people who try to force their views and beliefs that ruin it. I guess they missed the memo where no one but God is supposed to judge others, and let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at others. They are just trying to fulfil a personal purpose, to make themselves feel better.
At my school there are these people that come every year and had out bibles yelling that we are going to hell . They have signs saying it as well. This year was a little better but they practically throw the bibles at you. Most of them end up in the trash
@Shayy I came from a somewhat religious family. My grandparents being the main ones. My granny has her thoughts, but keeps most to herself. She believes her religion is the only right one. She’s a bigot. Frustrating to have a family member like that for sure.
It doesn’t help with MIL trying to push my husband back to JW and trying to convince him to take our children. He’s on the same page as me, but too kind to say anything to anyone that isn’t me on his views.
It’s a shame when even family can’t keep their thoughts to themselves.
I mean, did she say it rudely? Just goes to show it all comes down to how you look at things. If I heard someone say that in public, I would have probably shouted AMEN ?? lol
And to be honest, even if I wasn’t a believer I would have shouted something similar just to be silly.
@Shayy I tend to get this crap too. The ones who “throw” their religion into your face are the people I cannot stand. Just a few weeks ago I was told “you’re kids won’t know love until you have Jesus/God in their lives”
What I find annoying about instances like this besides what you've already stated is that not everyone believes nor needs to be converted or convinced. If you think I'm going to hell then just let me enjoy the ride down. ??♀️
I'm an atheist, I used to try to be very respectful towards peoples religions but after how crazy some can be I don't care anymore. Honestly if it was me I would have said something rude back at her.
Oh what a lovely thing to hear while walking about with my little family. It wasn't directed towards me, atleast I don't think, as I was walking a bit behind with our toddler and SO said she looked directly at him. He had our newborn in her carrier on him.
Then she followed us for atleast a block.
I'm not a religious person and by no means will bash people for their views, but that was just plain rude.
Trigger. Our precious boy Last night, December 8th, 2015, at 9:58pm, our sweet precious baby boy was born sleeping. We spent 5 wonderful hours with him: holding him, talking to him, singing to him, mourning him, praying for him, and weeping over him.
So, our downstairs neighbors have been banging on the ceiling every time our son walks. It scares him every time because it’s loud and he can feel it. I’m about over it. He’s TWO. He’s learning how to walk quietly but it’s hard for him. After about the 10th bang, I usually just put him in his high chair or his room. But I shouldn’t have to trap my kid in his own house bc of rude grown adults.
Omg ya'll our dream is finally coming truee! This storm is finally coming to an end and our beautiful rainbow is on its way! Thank you God for this blessing! I promise to protect and cherish him/her always.
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer. My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk outside without this information. Children of color are being targeted and killed too. It’s not just adults. I let my son know we treat everyone equally and with respect. I let him know that we love everyone for their differences. In every aspect. Color, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual preference we love everyone.

@Brady I realize that now lol. It's just a tad difficult to tell through words
Shay·
@newwife, i apologize. The context of your comment seemed opposite, thank you for clarifying.
Eta: I'm a little drowsy from surgery so my brain isn't fully here either lol

@newwife ok I see my mistake.

I’d of flipped her off and said, ‘See ya in hell judgmental b**** .’ ? I have no filter..... ?

I've definitely met some good, cool, fun religious people, so I try not to let the "bad apples" alter my views on all people (:
deleted-user·
Jesus is a pretty cool dude. Sorry she used him as a way to make you uncomfortable, op.
deleted-user·
Yeah but some of us religious guys are pretty cool too ? unfortunately some people have no manners or filters
deleted-user·
??
Shay·
I saw her again guys ?
deleted-user·
@Shayy I’m thankful my parents really don’t care.
My kids and myself are perfectly fine without religion.
deleted-user·
Seriously why I can’t stand religion. Some religious people are so judgmental! Defeats the purpose of you ask me.
Shay·
@meas it was in like a monotone voice so it was hard to tell, but I feel like it was more judgy

@cra I'm thankful SO'S family doesn't push it on me. Probably the one thing I like about them lol
they'll do their prayers and stuff but let me sit out if I want.
My mom tried to force me to baptize my oldest because her bf was religious. I'm waiting until she can decide for herself. It's only fair.
But yeah I wish family was more supportive.

@cra it's worse coming from my family. Actually, nobody was told about my oldest until my grandma had passed, that's how bad it was.

@cra I'm honestly quite used to this, but having my babies with me is a whole new ball park and line crossed
Don't be sorry (: lol
deleted-user·
@jn yessss
I’m sorry you dealt with this OP.
Shay·
@jn right? Like atleast I'll be happy and loved on the way there.
Shay·
@S327 deffinitly harder. My oldest is mocking what we do right now, which would just turn out horrible if I would've said something

@Luna it was directed to SO, but he was carrying our newborn at the time as well.
deleted-user·
It's definitely harder to defend yourself with kids around.
Shay·
@S327 I'm all for snapping at unwanted comments like that, but I was too tired to deal with it and dd1 is in parrot mode
Shay·
Omg @Luna ???
On a side note the look on my oldests face was priceless. Like "what is this crazy woman speaking of"

That’s weird.
I mean, Jesus does save sinners tho, just weird to direct the comment to a little kid just walking down the street ?
Shay·
I was curious as to why it was more directed towards him though.
He's actually from a religious family.
I have a religious family but my dad raised us to choose for ourselves.
It just blows my mind how people can say these things to people minding their business.
