So basically my water broke on the 14th at 3am but baby had pooed in the amniotic fluid so the water was brown. And that means he was in distressed at some point (his heart rate was doing okay at the moment). We tried to see if I could progress but I was still just having mild contractions.

My contractions were not moving fast enough or getting stronger and I was not progressing in dilating. So my midwife (I had planned a home birth) referred me to my back up doctor, who monitored Joshua’s heart rate in response to the contractions. They were not happy with his hearts responses to even the mild contractions I was having, so long story short they recommend an emergency c- section. Induction not being option because his heart rate was not not doing well each time I contracted mildly, so giving me something to intensify contractions would not help. And waiting to see what happened naturally would also add stress to his heart cause I’d stalled at 2cm dilated.

So we had the c-section and it turned out the cord was wrapped around his neck multiple times so going vaginal birth would have been quite a risk. They theorised thang the contractions were agitating the cord around his neck during contractions. His head was also awkwardly logged on one side of my pelvis. Anyway it was all a bit of an ordeal. But happy he’s here. Will definitely try for a VBAC whenever we have next baby. Cause I do and did want to do things naturally, but not whilst taking risks like that.

@pariss22 not really tbh. I was checked a few days ago and was told I’m 1 cm dialated and my cervix was soft. But I’ve only really been having lower back pain and constantly using the bathroom. Also he’s really low too.

@pariss, yes I did and my 4 year old has actually been acting up just to get attention even though we still include him in everything. I feel so bad but he’s getting better about it. He loves to help with her so we do our best to let him help with EVERYTHING.

B.dtt is right. They monitor baby's heartbeat over a 20 minute period and see if if drops when he moves. They also monitor your contractions to see if his heart rate drops when those happen. Then they give baby a score based on their findings and will send you for further testing if necessary. It's basically to be sure baby is doing ok. I'll be three days over tmrw.

I’m going to see my midwife tomorrow (Wednesday) too if nothing has happened. She also spoke of the possibility of a non stress test at 41 weeks. To my understanding they monitor baby’s heart rate for a time period to make sure he’s not in distress and he’s okay to stay inside for longer.

I have 2 days till I’m officially overdue. Fingers crossed I don’t get induced again this time around.

How’s the rest holding up? Had my appointment today. No change. Next appointment Monday for stress test and induced next Wednesday if she doesn’t come on her own.

So my midwife just called and asked what's going on. Lol. Looks like she wants to meet me at the hospital tmrw to do a non stress test on baby and make sure all is well. I'll be three days overdue tmrw. I've never had one done before. What's it like?

@paris I did feel guilty bringing my second home. She was fine tho...we worked overtime to make sure she knew she was loved and I tried to include her in all the baby activities including feedings. It was sweet I loved those times. When we brought my third home my second was so disgusted with him. Lol. Every picture I have is hilarious from that first day. It took him a minute to adjust but he came around. You're heart just grows with each baby. More room and more love with each one.

So this afternoon I’ve been doing some nipple stimulation which has produced a little bit of colostrum. It feels like it’s initiating something though. A bit of BH, hopefully it will develop more.

I’m a FTM so I’m not sure exactly what to expect, but I know these aren’t full contractions cause it’s really not intense at all or regular.

Also drinking raspberry leaf with a bit of cinnamon and honey. Anyway hoping it’s soon??

It’s Mother’s Day today in the U.K. ( which is where I’m from, although I no longer live there m) so maybe he’s been waiting for today... hope so!

Baby update....no update. Had a few twinges in the night (I Iive in South Africa, so it’s 7am Sunday morning now)..but really I think it was trapped gas ??. Gonna go for a walk today, also still exercising on my ball and dancing around. Maybe all the dancing and music is so fun he’s thinking why would I want to leave?

@b.dtt Its sold in bags like the tea. I also bought it mix cinnamon and ginger. If u have it in a power its good too ?? i think 3 smells spoons is enough for a cup with some honey to sweeten it. It starts contractions believe me ? and by the was, i had one before my contractions gots stronger I believe it helped

Y'all I was up having contractions for like 4 hrs last night and then they went away. ?. They were even getting closer together (4-5 minutes apart). If I was a ftm I would ave totally thought it was the real deal. But they didn't feel like it to me so I got up and showered and they went away. Bloody bh!!?

Ladies try drinking boiled cinnamon i think it will work with u. I had it 2 days ago and felt a lot of contractions but went away after 5-6 hours i think the progesterone i took have something to do with my cervix being closed100%
