Thank you all so much! We’re both doing great.❤️
Currently still at the hospital stuffing my face (finally hungry again). And baby is in her bed, all the visitors/staff have came and gone and now we are relaxing.?
Mia Nicole was born at 4:06pm on February 19th via Vbac.?
She weighed 6lbs 7oz.
I woke up Monday morning around 2am to pee and to some BH. I was having strong BH the night before but a shower helped so I didn’t think too much of it. I got up and went to the bathroom and I noticed some of my mucous plug tinged with red so I figured labor would be this week possibly. Once I stood up, I felt had trickles of fluid come out. I thought maybe I peed more but it was still coming out then stopped. I decided to call the on call nurse to see if I should be going in. While I waited for her to call me back, I laid down and waited for a bit before I stood back up. Once I stood back up, more trickling came out this time tinged yellow and pinkish. I let her know and she told me my water had broke and to go to L&D. They tested the fluid and then got us into a labor suite for the day.
I was making good progress with contractions about 2-3 minutes apart in the morning. When they checked me I was 5cm. Contractions got way more intense and I decided to then get the epidural. That’s when things slowed down. I stayed at 5 for another couple hours with contractions spaced out about 7-8 min. They started Pitocin but my midwife had another one of her patients in active labor so she stopped the Pit as she didn’t feel safe leaving me on Pitocin while she stepped out to see her other patient, as I was going for a Vbac. She said if I didn’t progress on my own when she got back, we could start it up again. While she was out the nurse started using the catheter to empty my bladder and that is when things started progressing. Soon my contractions were 2/3 min apart and I got to 7cm and then 10cm within 10 minutes later.
My midwife came in and said it was time. I felt like I couldn’t do it, I started getting upset and anxious. My DH reassured me that I could and that we would be meeting our little girl very soon once I did. After 15 minutes of pushing, she was out. No tears, no stitching, it went so smoothly. I’ve been up walking around with minimal bleeding and very little cramping. She’s breastfed four times so far and we are absolutely in love.
Her brothers are going crazy and can’t wait to come meet her today. Thank you for all your well wishes and positive thoughts.❤️
Congratulations mamma such pretty little girl!!
