Vaginal birth
For mamas who’ve had vaginal births, how long did you stay in the hospital after you gave birth? Did you leave same day or the day after?

Depended what time I had my little ones. I had my youngest 2pm on the thursday and was home by 12pm the next only reason we were in that long is because the complications I had when I was pregnant with him

I stayed 3 days for myself. 5 for my son. NICU mommy.

My first 24 hours, my second 3 days and my 3rd 48 hours. I try and exit hospitals like they are the plague I don't like them at all.

24 hours I was discharged the following day for both.

At my hospital 48 hours is mandatory for vaginal births and 72 hours for c-sections

With both of my last pregnancies I was able to leave 3 hours after giving birth. But I’m in the UK and I had no complications.

2 days after delivery with both of mine

I was induced so I had to stay an extra day for that process. So I was there the night they gave me cervadil (checked in at 9pm), the next day I had my daughter, the whole day the next day, and was released at 12 the following day.

With my first i left on the fifth day and it was vaginal delivery. With my second i only stayed 2 days and it was also vaginal

My son was born at 5:20pm, we stayed that night, the whole next day and left the following morning.
I think it depends on what time they are born.
Everyone was perfectly healthy no complications.

My first I stayed and they let me go like 6/7pm the next day

Mandatory 48hrs after vaginal delivery. About 3days after my csection-- which really sucked seeing as I had already been in the hospital for 4days before I had my csection. I just wanted to get in my own bed.

With my first I stayed two days, with my second and third I went home the next day.
deleted-user·
About 24hrs for all 3

I went to the hospital and had him on a Monday and was gone the next day. I hate hospitals. ?

We left like 2 days after DD was born. We wanted to stay a little longer because we were nervous new parents.
In the labour and delivery package at my hospital it says they release you within 24 hours for a vaginal birth. But when I spoke to my OBGYN she said we can actually leave 6 hours after birth at the very minimum. The catch is we have to come back at 24 hours after birth for a newborn screening test. Which is better than staying in the hospital if you ask me.
You should definitely ask about it!

My first I went home the next day so around 24 hours.
My second I stayed 5 nights as bub needed extra monitoring after birth as she was 4lb8oz and needed to gain and control temperature.

Mandatory 48 hours from time of delivery at my hospital

2 days after birth with my first and almost 4 days with my second due to complications.

With my first went in on friday at 2 and left the next morning by 10. With my second i went in on a monday at 530 had the baby by 6 snd was home by 8pm.....i laboured the majority at home for both and having a midwife was great since you get to leave a few hours after. My first had low blood sugsr which is why we stayed the night. My second was perfectly healthy. Good luck

Stayed two nights total!

My emergency c section I stayed 3 days and I know it will be the same this time again 3 days

I’ve had a c section and left on the 3rd day. I left next day after I had my twins vaginally. Hopefully I can leave next day if I have vaginally.

With dd they kept us 3 days and ds they said we had to stay for at least 48 hours and we had to beg to get out of there after that. I’m gonna have to ask my dr how long they’ll keep us this time I hope it’s not long.

2 days in the hospital and 3 if you have a csection
deleted-user·
I went in around 1 or 2pm, they gave me cervidil at either 5 or 7pm. I gave birth at 6:19 pm the next day and I left the next evening around 5 or 6.

I plan on getting my tubes tied after this baby. They said the procedure would be the day after I have her. I wonder if they will let me leave after the procedure that next day. Guess I’ll have to ask.
deleted-user·
For me, my doctor said I’m required to stay 48 hours after the baby is born. Which I’m not to mad about, the more help the better!
deleted-user·
They give you the option to stay two days

18.5 hours of delivery by induction. I had a midwife so I got to leave the hospital 3 hours later. (I also had an epidural)
deleted-user·
I was induced Thursday morning, dd came at 555 Friday morning, and I left Saturday morning. We could've stayed another night, but we missed our fur babies lol.
