Today at my appt they asked if I wanted my Dtap or just to wait until after I have the baby and we can both get it at the hospital to prevent us from getting the whooping cough.

The baby won't be able to have it until their 2 month check up. Its best to get it while you're pregnant

I just got mine yesterday. I also make sure that anyone in my immediate family has it prior to baby being born. (Hubby, my daughter, and I ask the grandparents we live really close too as well). Better safe than sorry. I haven’t had any side effects.

I had mine a few days ago. First pregnancy and I wasn’t expecting it but felt much better after they gave me the fact sheet highly recommending it for pregnant woman.

Yes. At 27 weeks. It’s recommended during pregnancy because some of the antibodies/protection are transferred to the baby prior to birth, so they have some protective benefit before they are able to get the vaccine themselves.

You need to get it at least 4 weeks prior to delivery to ensure you're making antibodies by the time baby is here to protect them via breast milk. I'll probably get mine next appt (29 weeks).

I'm not anti vax and I got one last pregnancy but will not this time after researching further and there being some studies of causing stillborn/miscarriages. Not a scare but wanted to share I read enough that I would rather not risk it since the chances of whooping cough comparable in our life

I actually got it twice with my first. I had to for school (very early 1st trimester) then months later dr asked if I needed it and totally forgot I had it so I got another.

I didn’t get It with my first not getting It this time neither. I never even heard of it until now, so if it was important I’m sure they would’ve “found it “ 8 years ago ??♀️
