Lincoln Hospital ?

A bit of a long shot but has anyone here given birth before at Lincoln County hospital ? I'm currently overdue and set to be induced on 5th feb but I wanted to know are Birth partners allowed to stay with you after you have given birth? I'm a FTM and live alone with both of my mum and ex (baby's dad) coming to be birth partners and neither live anywhere close by or have their own transportation apart from public. I'm terrified of being left alone and it's killing me that I live alone and practically stuck in bed all day :(

I would give the hospital a call and ask. I know when I have birth to my son (9 years ago) the hospital only let my OH do visiting hours after the birth BUT it was a different hospital and things may have changed since then.

I have a midwife appointment on Monday so I'll probably ask her if she knows too. I'm having last minute panics and extremely terrified of being left alone, I've never really had an issue before with being alone but something has just clicked these past few days!

ok, be honest! how many of you moms who've given birth wore depends after childbirth instead of pads? If you didn't, do you think it'd be a good idea? I have no idea how much bleeding I should be expecting after giving birth... and I don't want to just pick a bunch of underwear to ruin. I know the hospital gives you disposable underwear, but would depends be more comfortable and provide more leak protection?

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
