My two year old loves his tv. And when i put him to bed i turn it off and limit to very minimal use. But he still throws these huge fits when i turn it off at night. Do i just let him cio?

Giving in to tantrums is a great way to get more tantrums. Who's is doing the parenting here?

At 2, I wouldn't call it CIO, I'd call it a tantrum. And I'd never ever give into a tantrum.

Try starting a new bedtime routine. Maybe no tv 2 hrs before bed. Add books. But getting rid of the TV before bed might help break the addiction.

Thanks ladies. And im not sure what to call his fits because they seem so much worse than just tantrums lol youd swear he was dying by his crying

lol definitely a tantrum!! Sounds just like the ones I threw when I was little. I would scream until I was coughing and my face was all red. My poor parents. Try googling ways to help kids through tantrums. For the most part they aren't responsive if they are really in that state and ignoring them (if you are at home and they're in a safe environment) until the tantrum passes and then explaining the situation works much better.

Maybe try telling him 10 minutes before and then 5 minutes before.
I done that with my son when he threw tantrums about leaving someone's house or something. It always worked.

It might be just how you've written it, but are you saying there is a TV in his room?
Whether I'm right or wrong on that one - I personally don't allow any kind of entertainment in my son's rooms, as their bedrooms are for resting and quiet time. When I had a smaller house I was very limited on space, but now we have a designated games / TV room. When I say it's bedtime there are no distractions.
They are allowed book time or something quiet before sleep. No wi-fi is available to them once it's bedtime, my SO blocks WiFi to any of their devices. Quiet time in their rooms for a while before bed is essential for restful sleep.
Regarding tantrums, do not entertain them. They throw wobblers to see how far you can be pushed. Your rules are not negotiable. A tantrum to me is a confiscating offense or some ban time. The tantrums should ease of as they see they come with consequences. And don't give in!
