Seriously?? Was I being a batch?

I had to run a few errands after work today. My last stop was the grocery store. It was already dinner time so I was trying to get home to feed us. Dd likes the cart with the steering wheel/car. I pushed the cart to my car and put the groceries in my trunk. There was a cart corral directly across the aisle. A store employee was there gathering the smaller carts. After I unloaded the groceries I pushed the cart over with him staring at me the whole time.

No, you were not rude. That's what the corrals are for. And at least you walked it over there instead of leaving in right next to your car.

Yeah, I'm a shatty person and am like 'meh this is why people have jobs'

I would have probably been like "oh do you mind please? I have my hands full" but that's because I always have something to say, I wouldn't have been rude but it is kinda weird/rude for him to ask you to take it inside. What are you supposed to do with your groceries? And you can't leave your daughter there, and it'd be a pain to tote her both ways.

I wouldn't have done it, it's his job to collect those things, telling you to take it back inside is not his job.

If he doesn't like being a trolley pusher than he needs to find a new job.

That's what the cart corrals are for, the employee was rude in asking you to take it back especially with a child in your arms. That's his job that he was hired to do, if they wanted those kind of carts to stay in the store only they'd make them stay in the store.

PP the next child could easily use it, the person standing outside is a cart collector, that's what they are paid to do all day long. Asking someone who has a child in their arms after finishing up shopping to do it is rude when he's standing there. The cart corral is where it is supposed to go when you're finished.

I would have taken the trolley back inside so the next child could have it. It’s really not that much extra effort.

I'm appalled by how many posters were boasting about being rude to the trolley collector. When did bad manners become something to be proud of?

I guess I'm the odd one out. Mine wouldn't even make it to the corral haha. Rude but there's always 3 people handling carts in the stores I usually shop. If there's that many people I would think they can handle gathering all the carts.

I used to push cart and there's no way I would ask a customer to push the cart inside. I was happy when they used the corral

I'm with the others. Any other day I would have put that type of cart inside, but you were in a hurry. I probably would have said something like "sorry I would but I have my daughter with me and it's past her dinner time."

That's what he gets paid for. I'm a n awful person. I would've brought it back to my car and left it away from the corral. But that's just hormones talking lol

Here is aus all kids specialty trolleys dont leave the actrual store once your done shopping. (You actrually have to leave id and they return it once trolley is returned!)

Here is a rule so its not the same. Unless you suspossed to take the kids ones back inside. I don't see the issue. Its his job.

I really can't believe he even asked you to do it, let alone with a child in your arms.

I would have said this is the designated spot, if it needs to go inside I'm assuming that's what you're here for.

Why take the cart all the way back inside of there's a cart corral?

*edit to add our corrals are covered where I shop, so they don't get wet either way.

I would have said "Oh I'm sorry, I can't I need to make sure my child is out of the rain and home in time for dinner." I don't think you were being a batch. You're right, it's his job, he's being paid to do it, why do it for him?

Not at all, you were putting it back in the corral. That's where your courtesy ends and his job begins.

I would have just brought it to him . He can push it in, he has to go back there anyway. ?

So, I was in Publix with my husband tonight doing some grocery shopping. After picking up a bunch of bananas and putting them in the cart, I pushed the cart to the next aisle. I felt something on my arm and looked down....and saw this spider ON MY BARE ARM. Bright orange/red legs, with a neon green body and dark green stripes across it. It LOOKED poisonous. I practically screamed my head off in the store. I don't even know if it bit me, becauase I was just terrified and swatted at it and it fell on the floor. I have never, ever seen a spider with these colors before - and I assume it came woth the bananas, all the way from Dominica. You can't quite see the coloration here in this picture because my phone was dying so my flash wouldn't work. But my God, it was terrifying. I freakin' detest spiders!

son getting out of car seat

son getting out of car seat So a couple days ago my son started getting himself out of his car seat while we are on the road. He will be 2 years old May 27th. He pushes the chest clip all the way down and pulls his arms and shoulders out of the straps but is still buckled at the waist. Today he did it 4 times, we had to pull over every time. What do you guys do when they start doing this? My Britax came with these long rubber strap covers but I took them off a while ago when he was to small for them. Are they to stop him from pushing the chest clip down? I just want to know if these will help before I take it apart to put them back on.
