Help please! ?*Update*?
I've been dating a man for almost a month now. I'm seeing him on Saturday. I have no idea when or what we're doing. Do I get him something for Valentine's Day? Box of chocolate or something? I just don't know what to do (if anything). I kind of want to ignore that it's Valentine's Day... but have a feeling he's going to give me something... It's not like we know each other all that well yet.
I guess I'm way too blunt. If I felt unsure or awkward about it I'd just bring it up bluntly in conversation before hand. I'd say it jokingly...
"Hey are we going to exchange awkward Valentine's gifts Saturday, or what? Cause I need to know if I should save this box of chocolate I bought for Saturday or if I can go ahead and satisfy my chocolate craving and open it now?"
Or something more clever. My creative juices aren't flowing right now. But I'd rather just ask. Then everyone's expectations are clear.
Awkward phone conversation= less awkward Valentine's date.
Maybe that's just me, though?
Heard about this on the radio this morning 75% of people who are dating someone who have not been together but a short while do not expect anything on Valentine's Day. I mean he's a guy he won't care get a card put it in your purse if he gets you something the pull out the card if not then don't do or say anything! Save the awkward!
Aww thanks dancer mom ?. It's new and I'm not really ready to dive into anything yet, more like dipping my feet in the water, lol.
Exactly Kirby, I don't want to give the impression of being serious at all... I would rather give him nothing! But I feel like that would be rude.
I guess I just feel weird celebrating Valentine's Day with someone I'm not in love with.
All this dating stuff is foreign to me. I went 12 years without dating. I just feel like I don't know what I'm doing. But I agree, I'm thinking maybe some chocolate would be good.
Get the box valentines that kids give in class and give him one. It's silly enough that is cute and it's not fancy enough to be romantic. :)
I am also very happy for you that you are getting out there. :)
