Induction ? I'm nervous, realllyyyyy nervous. I'm scared it's going to take a super long time. I'm scared my epidural is…

I had like a partial induction. I was in early labor and they broke my water to speed it along but then my contractions slowed and I was stuck at 4 and they're like "oh crap" not literally but that was everyone's face lol. Anywho so I got pitocin

And it was suuuuper slow (also my first baby)

Then my blood pressure got low but they brought it back up.

Then the baby's heart rate was too high and they gave me oxygen to try to help me calm down I guess I gave us both anxiety.

Then I asked for the epidural. Worked for a few hours.

Stopped working. They increased it. I threw up everywhere.

Felt the epidural on half of my body only.

Then it stopped working all together. The contractions hurt, like bad and were closer together. The doctor said she would call for the anesthesiologist again but wanted to check me one more time. This is 27 hrs after they broke my water. I developed a fever so they started antibiotics. They said my water was broken too long and I probably developed an infection.

And then she said "ready to start pushing? You're 10 cm now"

And I said, "what about the anesthesiologist"

She said, "we can't wait baby is ready and you have a fever we need to get her out"

(she said that in a nice way she was super sweet. Not my regular doc)

Anywho. So my baby was in an odd position (not really centered) and she was sunny side up (probably what made the contractions worse)

I start pushing. Baby starts going in distress. I have a fever. My BP is all over the place. She says I get 10 mins to get her out or I need to have a c section. So the nurse and I do the tug of war method to help me push and 10 mins later, 2nd degree tear all the way back and around my anus, out pops my baby.

That's a super summarized version lol.

They said my labor was worse because of her positioning and she was my first baby and 8lbs 12 oz 21 inches. ?

And we both had fevers so we both had a longer stay.

ETA: if they induce you properly and don't break your water too early you should be okay lol

Good luck!! I was induced at 40+2 weeks. (Although when I got there I was already having contractions that I couldn't feel so pretty sure I would have gone into labor anyway) Mine went pretty smoothly, and quickly! Although my epidural didn't work 100%, I could still feel all my contractions. Other than that, everything went pretty well.
