I seriously just shat my pants. I can't deal with bees. They fly AND they sting! Like a spider bite sucks but you can typically outrun them. But these mofos FLY.

I think a pest control guy would be more effective than a tennis racket lol

@pp don't you question my tennis skills. ?Only the females sting for this type of bee. The ones that are little a****** drones can't sting.

They really only scare me when I can't see them but I can hear them. They make this awful low pitch hum because they are so fat and big. Almost sounds like a humming bird actually. We are going to try to make this trap for them we found online. Hopefully it works. They biggest reason we aren't going through the pest control is they would have to tear up the corner of out porch to get to the holes. They told us we would be the ones to fix it when they are done and can't say how much they would have to tear up in the first place. On top of all of that. It would be 3 to 4 treatments, each costing 150. They told us they could still come back anyways. Just couldn't justify spending that much, doing the repairs, and they still may come back. ?

Have you thought about reaching out to any local beekeepers? Seeing if there is a possibility to relocate them? I'm not a fan either but they are an important part of the ecosystem and are dying off at such fast rates.

We have them to. We had someone come out and they sprayed something like if the holes and along the roof line. Our overhang is wood and where they hang out. Unfortunately it only lasted for the rest of that summer and came back again as soon as it got warm:(

You do know wood bees don't sting unless provoked? Like swatting at them with a tennis racket! Also I would like to add it would probably be better to contact a bee keeper and have them relocate them! They are extremely important to the environment and are dying off at a rate which is very alarming!

Already checked last year or the year before. Bee keepers don't want them. Told me they aren't great at pollinating. Some plants they actually destroy while trying. My mom and dads house had a huge huge nest of honey bees when I was growing up. It was in the roof of the shed. There was 1000's of them. We would get in and out of the shed as needed and never once got stung. We coexisted with them because they were awesome. Lovely little creatures. These things can really destroy your wood. I don't know about you but I don't want to walk on a porch that has a bunch of foot long holes in the boards.

They're so aggressive! They'll fly at you as long as you're in "their space" ? I keep a racket outside also. Haha. Killed at least 6 so far ?

Bee keepers do not work with this kind! I heard if you fill their holes in with caulking to get rid of them.

We have these as well and I absolutely hate them, they hover over our porch all day, can't even enjoy being outside anymore. Dh kills them with a tennis ratchet but they keep coming and coming idk from where but they keep the wasps away that's the only good thing about them.

We had a shed that we built and painted. They took over!!! We lived with them around for 15 years until we burned down the shed. We didn't kill them, so they just moved on.

Those suckers did work on that shed though.

I live in Ohio. They are pretty common I guess. I read not many things eat them besides like wood peckers, so they can get over populated pretty quickly.

They are hell dwellers for sure. Pretty sure they have done some damage to the porch. I'm going to be going to war with them over the next few weeks. Hopefully we win. The neighbor is going to be helping because they are tearing his garage up. They have the whole side of his garage full of holes. I think we are going to be doing wd40 then plugging the holes we can find with steel wool and caulk. Hopefully it works!! Tell your husband to try a tennis racket.. I have no advice but GIRL I am praying for you lol. I'm so terrified of bees and wasps. We moved into our house at the end of summer last year and there were old wasp nests in all the windows and porches. It's starting to get really warm here, I've seen a couple wasps this week and I'm so scared they're gonna come back and take over our home. Idk what I'll do. ?

When I lived with my mom, she had an issue with the cicada killer wasps. They're HUGE! they were like 1.5-2 inches long ? they were burrowed under her cement patio. She eventually took the cement patio up & extended her deck.

Anyway, one day I trapped one under a cup, spayed 2 entire cans of wasp spray on it & that f*cker was still alive!!

These things are scary as hell. And they chase you!! What's up with that? ??
