Sil rant
Seriously, how dumb can she be?? My son is only 8 days old, and she brings her sick 4 year old over. I shouldn't have to say "if anyone is sick don't come over", that should be common sense!! To make matters worst, she never watches her son, ever. (There is no such thing as a bad child, they are only the result of their upbringing.) This kid knocked over all the folded clean clothes, pulled my cats tail and slapped him, and kept slamming my front door open and closed. Not a peep from his mother. He coughed right by my son without covering his mouth or anything, and all his mother says is "thanks for the shower". I was livid, to say the least. Then she tells him give your new baby cousin a kiss. I literally lost it right then and there. She still didn't understand how her kid with a sore throat, headache and a cough was a danger to my 8 day old son. I'm seriously so mad I could spit fire. If my baby gets sick from this, I don't even know how I'm going to handle it. He's so young. ???

Did you say anything to her op. I would've said something as soon as I noticed the child was sick and told her to come back when he isn't.

Sounds like my sil? I'm sorry you had to deal with that, hopefully your baby wont get sick!

Yes, you shouldn't have let them in.
I also believe that if they are in my home and their parent is just watching i will let them know.
My bil is the same way with my nephew, it's ridiculous. I'm constantly disciplining him when he's right there and he just ignores it.

Do we have the same sister in law? Seriously, I have one exactly the same so I feel your pain. I really hope your son doesn't get sick.

As soon as I realized that my nephew was sick, I'd ask them to leave and come another day and tell her why.

No way would I have let her in.

I would've said something. Even now that my son is 4 years old I am very cautious of ppl coming over that are sick. I get sick easily, and thankfully my son doesn't but still.
Few weeks ago a friend brought his friend with two sick kids and they were playing with my son. Wasn't until half an hr that I noticed they kept sneezing, coughing without covering their mouth, and playing with my son's toys.
I asked that they only play with the toys already out, and asked my friend to let me know if he brings someone else over that is sick because I don't want my family getting sick. So I washed and disinfected all his toys, covers and everything they touched once they left.

Not defending her because she sounds awful. But my 3 year old has a cough and stuffy nose due to seasonal allergies. Not sick or contagious but not knowing it was allergies you would think he was.

I didn't realize he was sick until the coughing happened. They had already been here for like 15 mins. I wish I knew before they even stepped in the door. I would have stopped them for even coming in my house. And yes, dh and I said something, the coughing fit happened right before she told him to kiss my baby. I lost it. I told her son to come with me into the kitchen and I made him wash his hands and sanitize them. I asked him what he was sick with and he said throat, head and coughing. And that "mommy gave him yucky syrup earlier." So she knew he was sick. Dh told her that she put our son in a lot of danger. I didn't want dh to yell at her in front of her child so that's why I took him into the other room. Before she left I told her she can't be trusted around my lo. She wants to act like a child then she can be treated like one. But you know, she's the victim in this.
