Ugh lord, I feel a small lump where it hurts. Very small, but that's probably what it is. I've had dd feeding off that side only so far today and I'll keep massaging it and try the warm compress.

Pray it doesn't turn into mastitis, I'm trying to get through this whole bfing experience without experiencing that mess ?

Ibuprofen is fine while breastfeeding ?

I had them a lot in the early days. I would make the shower as hot as I could handle and let it run directly on the clog while massaging. I know it's so painful but keep nursing from that side while massaging. Warm compress also helps. Hope you feel better! It's so uncomfortable :(

I did compressions with hot water that I microwaved so I didn't have to run back and forth to the sink. After about 15 minutes I massaged the area and would do another 15 minutes of compressions and massage it again and then nursed. I did that about 3 times a day and it went away completely in 3 days but I had 3 different spots on one breast and 2 on the other.

Isn't ibuprofen a med that will diminish ur supply? I could b wrong.

But op, what always worked for me was have ur lo feed on the clogged side more than u would to unclog it. It'll hurt but it'll unclog in a day. Having ur lo feel directly works way better than pumping. Also try outing a warm compress on it too. That will help also.

When I nursed my baby I had clogss left n right n mastitis twice! That was no fun. I eventually started taking lecithin which helped thin my milk n I stopped getting clogd after that.

Ibuprofen was the best thing for me to bring down any swelling

Usually pain is the first indicator. Palpate for a bump. Once you find it (or the general area) take a hot shower and massage the crap out of it. Then have baby feed from that side.

Keep repeating this process. You don't want it to turn into mastitis.

I noticed some soreness, investigated, and found a lump.

You'll have areas that are super hard and bumpy. Painful to the touch.

Massage, dangle nursing, using the shower head directly over the clog; those things could help
