It's so cool to see what my babies brain looks like now vs full term! Makes me super excited!

30 more days whoop whoop. .....30 days never seemed so far away lol but its totally worth it!!!! My last baby came at 30 weeks so making it to 36 weeks is so awesome! !!! And i hope i go fullterm! !!

Bumping because apparently people keep trying things they shouldn't be....

This is very helpful, but people are going to try things to kick start labor regardless if they are already aware or not. Most women have medical issues and many doctors have given the OK to try natural means of helping a women prepare her body for labor. It's not anyone's place to judge, all we can do is individually prepare for our own babies the best way we and our doctors see fit. :)

See the thing is though people forget post like these are not intended for the people who need to medically induced or for the people whose babies come early on there own.they are meant for the people who are just tired of being pregnant or they want tiny baby yes there are people who actually say they want a small baby so they want to have the baby early.

I intend to go into labor naturally or be induced at 41 weeks. However, I've always been curious how the brain of a newborn 40-week baby compares to the brain of a 37 week baby when they are 3 weeks old. Or in this case, comparing a newborn 39 week baby to a 4-week old baby born at 35 weeks.

@Mermer, the brain continues to develop until about 25 years old.

I would think development would continue on the same path of gestational age versus birth age. Which is why preemies are typically behind their full term conterparts if judged on birth age, that is until brain development slows for both age groups (at that point it'd be hard to tell the difference unless other developmental factors are present).

*I should note i used the term preemie for a baby born at 35 weeks. Extreme prematurity has additional factors that impede proper connections in the brain which will have more severe effects that last into adulthood.

Every baby is different. My son was born at 34 weeks, was able to breathe on his own, was reading at 4 and is now a straight A seventh grader...however I do think that we need to let the babies come when they are ready

You can't ask to be induced until week 38. Who's trying to risk their child's life at 35 weeks? I was tempted but I don't want to harm my child so I decided to be patient. I know pregnancy is hard but think of our little ones. They don't deserve to be forced to come into this world sick and underdeveloped.
