New thing. I don't take ANYTHING while pregnant I just suffer through and this is why. I don't trust anything. Lol

I haven't taken a single thing because of this. Nothing is 'safe' for a tiny body. I use essential oils for heartburn and that's it.

It can just barely link acetaminophen use with increased scores in hyperactivity and impulse symptoms, NOT the full ADHD diagnosis. They also didn't look at certain other maternal health risks, like smoking, which is already linked to ADHD and could explain the scores, but they never asked.

If that were the case all 3 of my kids would be ADHD...... not gonna believe all of THIS :-(

They say everything can cause adhd. I think it's just society. They diagnose everyone with something now a days and try to get you to take meds.

Yeah I've learned being married to a doctor, and watching him learn how to conduct retrospective studies (this particular study was a cohort study but the design would be similar in terms of statistical modeling), that studies can be extremely misleading unless you can read the specifics on the data and statistical methods/standards that were used.

Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

I never took anything while pregnant with all 4 babys and now my 5th baby. ..... i have two children with adhd and another child with adhd, add, mood disorder, and autism. ..... so dont believe everything sweetie..... my 23 month old seems fine so far, i guess we shall see, and hopefully this little guy im pregnant with will be fine

This one is new but I've read multiple other studies on it. It makes sense, their theory was that Tylenol gets in the baby and affects their endocrine system which isn't even fully developed yet and can cause different changes in how the system should react (if you take it a lot). I try not to take any medicine during pregnancy just because there is a risk of the things you eat affecting baby

Unless you know how to interpret and read statistics, and understand the methods they used to derive that data, you won't be receiving the full truth.

From what I can tell, this study has a lot of holes. It doesn't examine why the women took Tylenol to begin with. It is possible the underlying illness is what caused a rise in symptoms, not the Tylenol itself. Also, it left out a lot of important questions. Like smoking habits, which has also been linked to ADHD. Plus, they relied on patient reported doses. It wasn't a controlled experiment.

Some studies say the opposite of this one.. like having a fever while pregnant and not taking Tylenol causes autism.

I think all women should just do what they need to do to take care of themselves while they're pregnant, and their baby will be exactly as he or she was meant to be.
