I'd probably be annoyed if my friend canceled on me too, honestly. I get that it's a lot of money but didn't you know how much it was going to cost before she booked the first room?

We vacation with friends every year... we actually just got back today from our annual snowboarding trip. We find the house, get a total price quote with taxes, fees, etc, we confirm with everyone that they are ok with accommodations and the cost... And THEN we book the place.

My husband got home and talked to his friend, and he isn't mad at all. He understands. So it's just her going crazy

She sounds like a dick. When were you supposed to leave for this vacation? I could only understand if you canceled like less than a month before and knew and agreed to all these details beforehand.

I'd reply on her posts that you're sorry that you won't pay for her vacation for her because you have your own family to take care of

I asked her the same thing Krays and she said she was planning on splitting all the costs of EVERYTHING 50/50.

(Which was also NEVER discussed) they have a family of 6 and we have a family of 4 (daughter is only 1 so she is free into Disney)

She surly didn't expect us to pay half of everything. We can pay for us and they should pay for themselves

Our conversation is over but I'm having my husband call her husband when he gets off work because they have been really good friends for years.

I asked her if our friendship was worth less than $450 and she flipped out even more saying I screwed her kids vacation.

She's not a friend. The way she is acting is not okay. Is drop her so fast.

She says she's done with out "friendship" (she put it in quotes) I told her my husband would be home in 30min and I would talk to him about it and she told me to go F myself and screw me and my husband.

She went completely ballistic on me in less that 5 min. Instantly started cursing me.

Eh, I don't know. I'd be pretty annoyed if I were your friend. The end of March isn't that far away in terms of vacation planning. She still should've consulted you before changing the room, that's for sure. I most definitely wouldn't be making a scene about it on Facebook but if this is a vacation you had both planned and booked together then I can see why she would be upset.

I would just say I'm sorry, we can't afford it. Unless you were splitting board or driving her down I don't understand why she can't still go. This happened to me with Hershey park, my husbands cousin had to drop out- we still went and were upset at all.

I don't think you're wrong. That's a lot of money to be spending for kids who aren't old enough to really enjoy it. There is no reason that she can't take them alone unless she was planing on mooching off you.

Can she not take another friend instead of making you feel like crap about it? She did change the room without talking to you about it.
