Contraction questions I had a membrane sweep today. Before the sweep I was 3-4 dilated & 75% effaced.

On the negative side the last time I ate a meal was @ 4:00pm.. And they won't let me eat ?

My last 3 contractions were only 2min apart and they were 130+ strength and lasted at least a minute.

Oh thank goodness! I was like wtf!? How could they send you home at 5cm? Good thing he knew better! Enjoy your moment momma and post pics of baby girl!

Moved me to a bigger room and hooked me up to an IV for fluids (no pitocin) and I'm staying over night!

Contractions are definitely getting stronger!

Wow I thought after 5 cm it's consider active labour. I know you not 39 weeks till a couple of hours but so what is not like the cervix is going to close up now. Girl scream kick and have them break that water. I swear you go home you will be right back. Tell them sorry I live too far and I'm not going to a hotel. Lie about where you are staying.

Hopefully your Dr has you stay. That's ridiculous if they send you home. Keep us updated mama!

I would ask for a second opinion! How can they send you home when you're contracting every 5 mins - and are 5 centimeters?!?

They are calling a Dr. To get his advice but it doesn't sound hopeful

All my contractions are going off the chart and are under 5min apart and I'm dilated to a 5!!! What is wrong with these nurses ???????

According to my OB's 'rules'... He would have me go into L&D if my contractions were under 5 min apart and consistent for an hour. Go ahead and head to the hospital :)

Why cant they just break ur water?

The won't give me pitocin or anything so unless my water breaks in 30 min they are sending me home

Okay so they just checked me and I am 5-6cm dilated.

However they won't put me on pitocin because I'm not 39weeks till tomorrow.

So it's up to my baby girl to see if she wants to come tonight!

They are checking me again in an hour! Wish me luck!

Go now! I had a membrane sweep on my due date had contractions all day then had my daughter at 6:04 the next morning. I was 3 cm dilated before the sweep!

Since my doctor's appointment earlier my contractions have been every 5 minutes some painful and some not.

I'm just waiting for it to get way worse or my water break. My water broke for my first unexpectedly so I'm not really sure what's happening right now ?

@baby Iv tried everything. When I lay down I can't breath and I feel like I'm gojng to pass out

Have you tried laying down and seeing if they ease up? My first membrane sweep gave me nasty contractions for many hours but no baby. I did go get checked and walked around for 2hrs at the hospital but they eased up when I laid down.

My second sweep did the trick though.

I think we will go in soon. With my son they had me walk for awhile then took me to a room.

I have that same issue with crazy thick water sacs, and for me, I would stay pregnant forever or at the very least have c sections without having my water broke. Not much happens until that's done (for me).

Docs say to call them when your contractions are 7-10 mins apart. Give your OB a buzz and see what they say. But I'd say it's about time to get into the hospital. They may have you walk for a bit!

Are they lasting more than a minute? If they continue for another 15-20 minutes and are 3-5 minutes apart lasting at least a minute, I would go in.

@planet no we aren't home, we are staying at my step mothers for the night. We are about 10min away from the hospital

Go .tp the hospital them your contractions are close together. Its okay of its not Time yet. Better safe them sorry. the hospital probably got sick of me because I thought I was in labor all the time. Oh well.
